Who is your favorite author? Why? Does their books have anything in common? (ex. subject/ style/voice)

Hmmmm, so hard to choose one that's my favorite. I love so many: Dostoevsky and his "The Brothers Karamazov", JD Salinger and his "Catcher in the Rye", Victor Hugo and his "Les Miserables", Gabriel Garcia Marquez and his "One Hundred Years of Solitude"...I could go on. Although I think the most significant book I've ever read is probably "The Brothers Karamazov." It was epic! It was epic and after reading it I was changed as a person. Many scholars consider it the greatest novel ever written, and though scholars aren't necessarily right (because books are about opinion) I tend to agree with them here :)
