I just finished reading The Phantom Tollbooth to my 8 year old son in January.I read it when I was in 5th grade, loved it, and as an adult I found it even more amusing and downright trippy!
My son especially liked the dodecahedron and the boy who was growing down not up, so was levitating three feet off the floor.
Loved this book also! I read it with my daughter when she was in 3rd grade. I was amazed by its wisdom and humor -- much more appreciative than my daughter was at the time. I've never been able to get her to re-read it either, which I think is a missed opportunity for her!
The Phantom Tollbooth spans all media: definitely check out the book, treat yourself to the movie if possible, but, at all costs, avoid the band, Phantom Tollbooth. I bought an LP of theirs simply because i figured anyone inspired by Phantom Tollbooth must be awesome (and it cost 99 cents).
I haven't read Island of the Aunts, but otherwise your #12-15 contain some of my all-time favorites. :) Must've been a good three weeks!
