Does adherence to rationality lead to atheism?

V. Pain (Vpain) | 27 comments () I'm glad you asked that. After reading up on social psych and philosophy, I came to the conclusion that the more educated a person is, the more likely they are atheist/ agnostic. Obviously this isn't a rule. But I find myself judging when a person was raised "knowing God" and decides to give it all up. I call it spiritual laziness. I also think I sense a begrudging attitude or raw rebelliousness toward environment, that says "as soon as I'm free I'm going to do everything" without God, where's guilt? Simply dropping "him", makes it easier to deliver retribution or just get a little satisfied on the side or whatever the flesh desires..

One can be moral and even spiritual without believing in a God. In fact, I believe that it is more moral not to sin merely because you think that that is the right action as opposed to not sinning because you fear punishment from your God.
