David Eddings' books have seen me through some hard times over the years. One of the biggest would have to be my overseas deployment in the Army back in the 90's. I took the Belgariad and Mallorean series' with me and they helped me to relax and escape for awhile when the stress got too high.
Anyone else find his books a valuable hideout? I think I am on my 4th copies of some of his books...lol
Totally. His books are my go to reads when things aren't right - and what I took to hospital when in labour! Have been comfort reading Weddings for the last couple of decades :)
