I'm very very partial to Aran sweaters, anything with cables and I'm all over it!

Made my husband this beautiful "Dales Aran" from The Ultimate Knitters Guide by Kate Buller. I used Rowan Magpie which is now discontinued, but a wonderful yarn, knits up nice n' toasty with a good weight.

The 1000 Sweaters book has a cool cable pattern to make, but I used Knit Picks DK Merino and it ended up being the perfect size for my 3 year old in another year. No joke. That's the one that I used as the logo for the group.

There was an "Heirloom Aran Baby Set" from the Spring 2004 Interweave magazine, that was stunnig. It was a little cap and sweater that I actually used Caron Cuddle Soft for. For an inexpensive yarn it really knit up well, soft with a nice weight.

Lisa | 10 comments I'm a fan of the Aunt Alm's dorm boots pattern (and variations thereof). People love them! Also the Rib Warmer vest and variations by EZ and Meg Swansen. Lot's to play around with.
