It was about when I was 7 I think. Before that I was reading all the kids books like Mr Men and The Famous Five, I enjoyed them but what really made me love books was when I first read Harry Potter and The Philosopher's Stone. My brother had already read most of the series and when I asked him he said that I probably wouldn't understand it and should go back to reading my baby books. :P i was pretty pissed about that so I took it from his room when he wasn't looking and I was literally hooked. I was just in love. And so began my love affair with Harry Potter. Thats why it will always be my favourite series :) No matter what, Hogwarts will always be there to welcome you home.

I have always had a huge love for books. But I really started to avidly read in 7th grade. In 5th grade and 6th grade I read Harry Potter, Twilight, and Hunger games. The books all sparked an interest in reading, but didn't jump start my absolute love for books that I have now. At the very beginning of 7th grade, a certain friend of mine (Abby :D) recommended Divergent by Veronica Roth. I was absolutely in love with that book. I read it within a day or two and immediately got the next one. That book really started my love and appreciation that I have for books that I have now!
I've always LOVED reading. When i was very young[5 6 or 7]i would sit in the wide hallway with the bookshelves and read tons of short books for hours. When i grew a bit older[8]I went to the library and came back with a humongous stack of books in my hands. I read the Series of unfortunate events, and even reread them, and some other books. But i truly because a bookaddict(I am not calling myself a "bookworm"the LARVA OF A WOOD-BORING BEETLE THAT FEEDS ON THE PAPER AND GLUE ON BOOKS!! THat is what a bookworm is. EW NO I AM NOT SOME LARVA THAT EATS PAPER-_-)when I was in 4 grade and read The Harry Potter series. I finished the first 3 books(the smaller ones)in 3 days and read each bigger book in 2 days. I WAS OBSESSED! Then in 5 grade, I reread Harry Potter, read The Hunger Games, and read Twilight. I started becoming obsessed with books^_^ in 6 grade i read over 100 books that year and in language arts we have to record the books we finished, well the other kids thought i was a liar when they saw how many books i read and that i read short baby books or comics and thats why i had so many stickers on the chart. Hahaha..no. Does a 700 page Harry Potter book look like a baby book? What about the 600 page, The host, book?-_- then in the summer i read so much every day i would go to the library and half price books and buy and borrow books*sigh*But now this year i don't have as much time to read...stupid school!:P
Um, I would say when I was about 13 or so. It started with Nancy Drew, went to the Boxcar children, then I got into Sarah Dessen and that all led up to paranormal books. Now I read a ton of genres and am an author of YA romance and paranormal. See, you never know where reading is going to take you ;)
Ikr!!! I love Tessa, from Clockwork Angel's quote. Books have the power to change you or something like that. GAH let me find the exact quote...:P
The quote is, "One should always be careful of books. Because they have the power to change ones self." Something like that I think.
"One must be careful with books, especially what's inside of the ,"Tessa said,"For words have the power to change us."
AHHHH! So true:P
AHHHH! So true:P

I just wasn't overly excited about books until divergent.
I think as a kid I got into books more after reading Junie B. Jones, I loved her character. I used to always go to the library in elementary school and borrow every book. I also loved the series Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing. I thought they were the most hilarious books, both of the series.Oh and then the tween Twilight phase lol... I've grown up now so I'm not really a twilight fan anymore. I still preferred the books after I watched the first movie.

I read since I was very small, small children books but the first novels I ever read are Sisters Grimm, Coraline, The morning glory wars. Then I passed to Twilight phase and I was stuck there for a while D: Then I discovered Harry Potter which is the best discovery I will and ever made <3
goes back to childhood days whem mom used to read to me. later started on Enid blyton and now crazy about YA books.
When I was 8 or 9, my mum got me a 10 book mystery series and since then, I have been reading almost as much as I breath :)
I read The Hunger Games a couple of years ago and that kind of started my real love for reading, and last summer (in August) I read City of Bones and I loved it so much. It introduced me to all of the hot Young Adult books, the Booktube community, and my love for reading and knowledge on current Young Adult literature has expanded so much that it's like I discovered a new universe or something. And I love it so much.

After finding PolandBananaBooks channel, there was no turning backXD
I stumbled upon the Booktube community when I was searching for reviews on the city of bones movie cause I like hearing other people's opinions on stuff even if I don't agree with it. And I saw Kat from Katytastic's review on it, and I watched her other videos and those changed my reading life and introduced me to all the other YA books and booktube community and and I think that's all I need to say.

That is! I'm happy I found booktube though! It has changed my reading habits and I bought so many books just hearing people's reviews!
The only downside to being part of the booktube community to me is seeing all of the booktubers is the books and their bookshelves cause it makes me so jealous that I like just can't reach in and steal the books (especially if it's one I really want to read/own!) or I lose myself staring at the books.
Haha, I watch bookshelf tours then feel like I need to go out buy all those books I see on the shelf!
I feel the exact same way, like when I first saw Kat's bookshelf tour in April, I like jotted down all of the books I was interested in looking at on goodreads (and there were a lot of them (it might have been close to her entire library xD)).
Yeah, my goodreads tbr is so big thanks to booktube. My physical tbr is big too. Kat's bookshelf's are so pretty. So many books!
I remember when I first saw her COB movie review, I was like 'woah the bookshelves behind her look so pretty' and I probably spent the whole video looking at her bookshelves before I watched the video again and paid attention to the video that time xD. And like you, thanks to booktube, my tbr pile is so big I probably won't complete it in one lifetime.
When I watched Christine's, I didn't get really until I read the books. What other book tubers do you watch?
Other than Kat, Christine, Catriona (Little Book Owl)(btw I'm sorry if I misspelled that), Jesse, Ariel, Regan, Heather, Kassidy, Sasha, and a few more. It's surprising how many booktubers I am subscribed to within 6 months.
I'm subscribed to all of them and abookaffair, amarisafloria, bethjune327, BooKss101, Elisabeth Olsen, Jbooklover13, Megan Olivier, YA BookwormBlogger, and more
I also am subscribed to the first and last ones you mentioned. I also am subscribed to Raleen, Tiernan, Tasha, and I think that's it.
Short story: all my life.
Long story:
Well it depends on who you ask.
I remember it that I had trouble learning to read,my mom will say I dident have a problem at all.
Anyway, I remember my mom reading the narnia books to me when I was 8. off course after a time I couldent wait for her to have time to read to me, so I started reading the books myself. after that I never stopped reading.
I remember in early primary, my whole class loved to read. We had reading assaignments in school. ( read so and so many pages) I always ended up getting the prize.
we read nancy drew, hardy boys, harry potter, +++.
But in the last 2-3 years of primary the others started doing other stuff instead of reading. I just kept on reading.( I actually read a chick lit book with a sex scene in when I was 10) . I had a bit of a dry period reading wise from 12-13, then I did the smart choice of starting to read in english.( I alredy read harry potter in english, and wanted to be better in english) After that the books never stopped entering my world.
p.s
also yeay booktube :D I dream of becoming a booktuber myself one day. but atm I dont have a camera so its a bit hard.

I read comics since I was 3. But the credit for getting me to read non-comics goes to Goosebumps. I read my first one in second grade and fell in love with them. My love for books branched off from there.
