Valerie If you've never made this, you're in for a treat. Kids love it - they're the excuse I use for making it.

It's from the Chex website: www.chex.com

9 cups Chex cereal

1 cup semisweet chocolate chips

1/2 cup peanut butter

1/4 cup butter or margarine

1 teaspoon vanilla

1 1/2 cups powdered sugar

1. Into large bowl, measure cereal; set aside.

2. In 1-quart microwavable bowl, stir together chocolate chips, peanut butter and butter. Microwave uncovered on high 1 minute; stir. Microwave about 30 seconds longer or until mixture can be stirred smooth. Stir in vanilla. Pour mixture over cereal, stirring until evenly coated. Pour into 2-gallon resealable food-storage plastic bag. (I use a small garbage bag.)

3. Add powdered sugar. Seal bag; shake until well coated. Spread on waxed paper to cool. Store in airtight container in refrigerator.

akaellen | 8 comments YUM! I was actually going to look this recipe up (and here it is!) -- it was mentioned on Jon and Kate Plus 8 this week.

Valerie My daughter's school had a bake sale as a fund raiser, and little bags of muddy buddies sold like hotcakes (just a little note for parents/caregivers who need to whip things up for school*).

*Unless your kid goes to one of those schools in VT that doesn't allow sugary treats.

(Sorry Kim, couldn't resist :)
