The books bored me to no ends.

The series is great though!
More of a story, a bit of action and Elena finally screwed her head on right when she picked Damon!

I read the first 6 books and then I couldn't get my self to even start the 7th, at the beginning I loved the books but then it got really boring and idiotic so yeah the series is perfect. TEAM DELENA. peace

I really like the show for two reasons- #1 Some of the books were really disturbing including the one which had the Kitsune in it. It was so disgusting that i left the book midway and decided to start the next one but then i couldn't follow what was happening because everything was related to the previous one so unwillingly i started again. #2 Elena and Damon together....just love it!!!!!! So i think i prefer the show than the books

Before season 4 I'd say the show because books are bad. But the show is now a joke, too.

I think they're too different to make comparison. Anyway If I think to Shadow Soul I prefer books, if I think to Phantoms...well....I like more TV series...

After a long time I came back to books and started to read 6th book but I am not sure whether I will finish it. Is is just so stupid and boring. I have huge problems to read it at all.

In my eyes I am happy the serial is not so much like these books. Thank god for that, serial is really amazing with some action and all that.

ive been watching the show since it began and i enjoy it so i decided to read the books because i almost always prefer the books over the tv shows or movies, but ive got to say that i actually really like the tv show better. there are sooooo many differences that it is hard to try to compare them so i started to look at them as separate entities, just like i had to do with trueblood and the sookie books. after i did that i started to enjoy the books a little more, but honestly after reading the more recent ones i have to say they couldve ended the series with the beginning ones. the only ones i havent read are from the most current series but they are in my queue of to-read books. i enjoyed them in the beginning but a lot of things got realllly lame/ not believable as the books went on. plus a different person is writing the rest of them because the publishers didnt like the direction the author was going with and i think that is part of the issue. i wonder how different/ better the books might have been if she had been able to have control over the storylines.
