The only chefs I know of besides my son, and a couple of friends, are Emeril and Chef Ramsey... but in Europe when you are about to partake in almost any activity from a meal to maybe a board game, bike ride, walk, or whatever, it is automatic to say "Enjoy" although using the Dutch word,or whatever language word, where as people here seem to always say "Have fun" or similar... so it is basically my way of hoping you have a good time, like it, and much more, but in one small word. English has way too many ways of saying the same thing, or similar sounding thoughts but the actual meaning not always as nice, so I will stick with "Enjoy!" and hope you all know now that when I say "Enjoy" in regards to a book that my wish for you is this: "I hope you are able to sit back, relax, & have a great time reading this book as you also enjoy your escape from our world into whichever world the author has taken you to. May it be a very good opportunity for you as you take the time to be part of a fantastic journey that gives you the escape we all seek when we pick up a new, or even better, well loved book!"
Now you can see why "Enjoy" is easier! However, if I were to say that to my sister as I offered her a book I know she will hear all the unspoken wishes and words that most North Americans seem to miss. Besides which, not wishing you to enjoy a book seems as rude to me (we all have our quirks from our upbringing..lol) as not wishing one all the best when you raise a glass in a toast or for someone to travel safe when they go on holidays... all the other stuff that goes with those small words are just known without being said, just as is the case of my intent in saying from one reader to another, "Enjoy" when I post a book. :)
I really enjoyed Christine Dougherty's zombie books, so I jumped on this one.

Am heading off on summer vacation hanging at my parents and catching up with family for at least a couple weeks, but would be happy to take you up on it when I get back, near the end of the month... if that's not too long for you. I am presuming a buddy read is reading together and sharing progress???

"..."While I have never done a Buddy Read, it sounds way more like my thing than a book of the month... I read way too many books in one month to even remember all the fine details of the book by the time the discussion arises weeks after I have already devoured the book, and the ones where it is a once a week discussion, I would lose interest if I only read a quarter of the book at a time, as I would probably read 5 more waiting for the next discussion...lol One of the very few downsides of too much time to read as my broken neck slowly heals... Thus also the reason for my not so exciting summer vacation plans as mobility is still quite limited and exhaustion quite high so going to visit Dad, who lives only minutes from a gorgeous beach, is one of the few do-able options so my whole summer is not spent watching the rest of the world play thru my windows looking out at the world... :)
Friendly Neighbourhood Mod Reminder - this is the free-not-zombie book thread. Unfortunately, I can't cut and paste off topic conversations to another thread - Goodreads doesn't have that function - so off-topic conversations tend to derail the thread. Conversation is fine, obviously - we just need to keep mindful of the thread topic. Thanks!
