Earth's Survivors Book One: Rising From The Ashes by Wendell Sweet http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00B6M22HA
This one looked good to me.
If there is a willing goodreads librarian, it would be good to have that one added to GR.
I'll probably be reading it in the next month. Group survivor story lines are usually more my thing as they are more complex, having more meat to them. :-)
Tammy K. wrote: "Group survivor story lines are usually more my thing as they are more complex, having more meat to them."Have you seen the trailer for the new CW show, The 100?
http://www.youtube.com/watch_popup?v=...
It looks like a teenage romp, and then gets dark around 3:59...
Thank you for sharing that link/tv series with me (us).It looks interesting.
However there are a couple flaws that will not pass the science fiction lover in me.
I will watch a couple episodes just to see how it pulls it off.
CW is doing so much better in the types of shows that it writes but still plays too much to the twenty-something crowd.
I am not saying that is not a good crowd to play too, but that they are not the true viewers of the science fiction genre.
Finding a blend that will meet the desires of the twenty something (give me: romance and beautiful bodies lovers) and The true science fiction views (give me: complex moral struggles, Believable/relatable characters and some brain food for my mind) has not been something that CW has managed to pull off.
Just my views
But anyway, thank you for sharing the link and telling me (and everyone else) about this series.
Post apocalyptic, DystopianAt first glance this one did look like just another young adult romance book that happened to take place in a dystopic setting... but as I read on in the description it looks like it might have some meat (food for thought) to it? I am not sure but thought to list it for you all to take a look at it while its free.

Before it get's any later in the day, I wanted to share a book that I got last night It is called Whispers in Autumn by Trisha Leigh
It is Young Adult ok so there is some angst but not as much I as I have found in some adult romance novels.
It is also Science Fiction, Alien Invasion, Post Apocalyptic, Dystopian with a strong does of Paranormal Fantasy (super powers/gifts)
Sound good so far?
Well I got in the evening it thinking that I needed a genre changer and found myself reading until 1:00 AM.
I managed to get to 67% before finally surrendering to sleep. (It is 389 pages long)
Here is a youtube book promotion clip, but I warn you the video is not nearly as good as the book ;-)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SbYB4J...
It is the first book of a four book series and is currently free on Amazon.

I've been tracking this book for sometime and it finally went on sale (free) today. Because it has Religious extremists in the set of characters, I was reluctant to purchase it. (Yeah, I know I am cheap but hey if I am going to buy something with 'real' money I want to KNOW I will like it. )It is in the Post Apocalyptic, Science Fiction - Genetic Engineering genres.
