SOLVED. New Orleans ghost story [s]

I'm looking for the book with this story..although its been years since I've read it.
Set in New Orleans, it has a ghost (or a woman is haunted ). A wealthy family , incest, murder. Something to do with the mardi gras parade... I want to say it was written by a woman and had a white book cover...sorry that's all I can remember..thanks for your help in advance!

It could fit a lot of books, but the first thing that popped into my head was Anne Rice's The Witching Hour.
