awww thanks Sapir! I've been thinking of making a group like this for a while but I was hesitant at first cause I'll be a senior in high school next school year & that's like the busiest year.. but whatever.. xD
Senior year really kicked my bootay reading wise! I'm trying to make up for it this summer haha. Hey Chloe!! Oh my gosh I'm so excited for this group!!
I hope it is :)) I also have a semi-job building a website for a friend. Which sucks only bc it takes away from time I could be reading. My mom is always on me about being on the computer, and reading, too much :P
That's good that you have a job. I'm looking for one now. But yeah kinda sucks:D hahahaa my Mum's like that. She tells me I aught to be going outside and spending it with my friends instead of being inside all day:)
Leigh (Little Book Star) wrote: "HOW MANY OF YOU ARE DYING TO SEE CATCHING FIRE?!? *meee*"ooohhh me as well! :D
Chloe: sounds like my mom. It's kinda funny actually. My mom gets mad when I'm on the computer all day but my dad is supportive. One time he came come and I was at my little station at the little used dinning room table and he asked if I'd been there all day and when I said yes he laughed and asked if I wanted him to get me a more comfortable chair :) Oh catching fire was a good book but I'm not sure if I can handle the feels! Ugh (view spoiler) I was also really unhappy with Collins in the Gregor the Overlander series (view spoiler) She ripped out my heart twice and I'll never forgive her for that.
Leigh: Yeah she wrote it first. It's the Gregor the Overlander series. Here they are in order:
It's for younger kids, but honestly I think it belongs in the YA section because there's a lot of violence, war, and death... not to mention the books aren't small at all! She actually wrote this series a long time ago (the first book was pub. 2003). I read them when I was in 5th grade. Despite my hatred for the ending of the series, it's really a great series! I think the messages and themes in it are great. I think it's far better literature than The Hunger Games in many, many ways.
---
Chloe: Yeah I know! :) I think it's because he's a programmer so he think I'm going to make a career out of my time on the computer (which I might, I'm building a website right now!) so he thinks of it as an investment, not a waste of time. I've used a computer since I was 2-years-old. Idk what else my mom expected ha.
Noooway! She's actually semi-well known for Gregor. It's a pretty popular children's series. It's what got me started on reading. I didn't pay attention to the author though and I didn't realize the connection until my librarian and I were talking and she mentioned off hand that Collins had written GtO and I FREAKED out (with anger) and scared her half to death ;)Authors rarely hit it big with a debut book. For example: Rick Riordan had written many adult books before Percy Jackson.
wow how do I not know this D: My childhood books were like Charlie & the Choc. Fac. Ramona & Beezus, Goosebumps, Fear Street, and Charlotte's Web xD
Ah yeah I know all those! I never really liked Ramona & Beezus. I read Gregor (obviously), Encyclopedia Brown, The Magic Treehouse Series, A to Z Mysteries, Lemony Snicket... yeah :)
Tessa: That's really good. I'm terrible on Computers. I can use Microsoft and the internet but wouldn't know where to start with a website. Your talented! :D
