Will the book be as passionate and unique as you first 2-3 Harry Potter books? Because the first book was truly a masterpiece while your writing (to me) style withered and became adulterated. Can you invest your true self again into this book?

A lot of people still haven't gotten over Harry Potter having ended. Are you considering writting more fantasy novels (doesn't have to be Harry Potter related)?
Hi Everyone! Thanks again for your questions. Here is J.K. Rowling's answer to the winning question:http://www.goodreads.com/blog/show/42...
Showing us a family which is full of problems such as the family of Kristal (i don't know if it is written correctly), you showed us a terrible part of life that can make people addicted, in other words, DRUGS. Moreover, with the announce of Cory Monteith's death because of drugs, I feel so sorry because drugs are very painful, dangerous and it's also hard to stop using them. So, Terry represents what an addicted person can be but, my question is, have you ever been near a person who uses drugs? Or have you just heard it on tv or newspaper?
Marisa wrote: "Is this book in any way like the amazing Harry Potter series"No! Not at all--please don't think that. It's a great book, but not happy. It's very raw, gritty, and characters are foul-mouthed and often cruel and selfish.
Hi Ms. Rowling,First off, I'd like to say what a huge influence your writing has been for me. My question is, did you ever doubt your writing abilities? If so, how did you overcome your insecurity and lack of faith?
Thank you so much for your time,
Mary-Kate
Now that you have written a novel aimed at adults, would you ever consider re-visiting Harry Potter, you could write about the next generation. Or perhaps, create another, different fantasy book.
Do you base you characters on acquaintances from your down-to-earth life or do you totally makeup their personalities?
I saw this message in my feed a bit too late, if I could ask Jk Rowling a question about casual vacancy it would be, why did you kill Colin mccreevy and hegwig! Those were unnecessary deaths and it makes you kind of a bitch. I didn't read casual vacancy, I'm still upset about Colin and hedwig.
What were you aiming to accomplish when wring the Casual Vacancy and what inspired you and gave you confidence?

I love how people are still asking questions on this despite missing the deadline and having the winner announced along with JKR's answer. I also loved how the people were asked to enter a question about The Casual Vacancy but have asked questions about Harry Potter!

The summer has been kind of dull, that could be entertaining to say the least
Speaking of Jo,
Have you read the New Book she wrote under a pen name? I just got a copy but I'm almost afraid to start it

I haven't read it! I really want to but I want to leave it very mysterious!
I would like to suggest that J.K.Rowling, in her infinite wisdom has journalistic and a philosophical turn of mind for she probes deep into society's values on many levels and in so doing she is able to reveal the 'cell of being. My question, Miss Rowling 'do you on a larger scale seek to show that in society you cannot judge a book by its cover and therefore one should be more circumspect in offering opinions about others until you have walked in their shoes.
This book is different from every other book I've read. The characters all have very human personalities, not one is better than the other. Which character do like or dislike the least? Also, what inspired you to write a story this detailed about human frailty and dishonesty?
Did you add something Harry Potter-ish to this book that we readers were not able to see?Loved the book!
Sonal wrote: "Did you add something Harry Potter-ish to this book that we readers were not able to see?Loved the book!"
actually I thought the people in this book were a lot like Harry would have been if magic had not swept him away from the life he was living, neglected and under the stairs
In The Casual Vacancy is there any parts while writing that made you think of Harry Potter? Is a part of Harry in your book?
When would it hit the theaters, J.K.? So, excited about your books being watched all over the world!
Am I right to come to conclusion that Kristal and Stuart are Barry's illegitimate children? Is the relationship between the two teenagers actually incest?
How big of a change is this for you? Were most fans expecting a new h.p. series? Did you urge to add a wand in this one? Will it be different having a different audience to you?
After your experience with Cuckoo's Calling- do you wish you would have published Casual Vacancy under another name?
The Casual Vacancy is a very serious look at Britain's mental health/social services institutions and the problems they face. It obviously hits close to home. Can you say what prompted, inspired you to write the book.

Interesting perspective, but I don't think I agree. Even after that, Harry still had a pretty awful life in many ways. The only thing really different was that he finally had great friends.
In book 6, Rowling touches on this point. The truly remarkable thing about Harry is that even AFTER all of the tragedy in his life he was still able to become a well-adjusted and extraordinary man.
I think Harry would have been one of the very few people in "The Casual Vacancy" who would be able to take all of this on the chin and still come out of it all right. That's what made him special, his incredible ability to roll with the punches.
LIKE I SAID TWENTY DAYS AGO...
ITS OVER!!!!
YOU GUYS ARE SOOOO DISAPPOINTING!!!!
