Still pretty horrific
, even if it is Baltimore.

BTW, we're deep into The Wire, season 2. Has anyone else watched/loved/felt compulsive about this show?

I'll post here because I can't find a "I hate the Swine Flu" thread.

Crazy NPR story on the technique of face masks. As I'm reading this I'm thinking, "really? Is mask wearing in my future? I don't really want to wear one of those. But what if I should? If so, will I wear it correctly?"

http://www.npr.org/templates/story/st...

RandomAnthony | 14536 comments I heard that NPR story! Apparently they say the sick people should wear them so they don't cough all over people. Makes sense to me.

Sally (mrsnolte) | 17347 comments Mod
Well indeed, but I don't want to have to wear one!

message 6: by RandomAnthony (new)

RandomAnthony | 14536 comments Well, I should say it makes more sense for the few sick people to wear them than the many well people.

Kevin (ksprink) | 11469 comments ok, i heard this quote:

1000 people get swine flu and everyone wears a mask. 1 million people a year get AIDS and no one wears a condom

interesting

It is weird to me how big brother the media they pig farmers are worried about the pigs catching the virus from humans.

What is the terrible outcome of this? Is Saudi Arabia one step ahead of us with their pig slaughter?

message 9: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) The pigs are innocent, I tell ya. Innocent!

Goat flu?

Cowpox?

Drug-resistant tuberculosis?

Bolivian hemorrhagic fever?

What intrigues me about that imgage, Matthew, is that it appears to be an ad of some sort, Look down in the bottom right hand corner. What is that?

message 14: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) That really gets my goat.

message 15: by Matthieu (last edited May 05, 2009 02:59PM) (new)

Matthieu | 1009 comments I'm not sure, Anthony! What a strange ad. If they're trying to sell something... I'll buy it?

Heidi (heidihooo) | 10825 comments As I scrolled down and then spotted that picture, I cracked up laughing (the uncomfortable tension-breaker, I-didn't-expect-to-see-that kind of laugh). The follow up comments prolonged the crack-up.

message 18: by Matthieu (new)

Matthieu | 1009 comments No, Sally. This advert has me quite confused. I'm not sure what I want anymore...

Matthew, you're far too young to be saying that.

I need for it to be a longer word, because it takes longer in my mouth to produce those sounds, you know?
