Who on this Forum is comfortable with anouncing their Sexual orientation?

I'm Bisexual.

I'm straight but totally supportive of LGBT too. :)

I'm straight but totally supportive of homosexuals and bi-sexuals. I have gay friends who I care about and want in my life. I could care less if they're homosexual or not.

LGBT? Is that like BDSM?

LOLOLOL NOOOOO it stands for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, or Transsexual! NOT BDSM! Lol I laughed so hard. XD

≈aleх: pнoenιх oғ тнe ғlaмe≈ (loveisendless) Oh. Okay. I am straight but very supportive of this LGBT. I actually encourage those who are to express it, not hold it in like some people.

@Apoorva

Ah, you just gave me a good laugh. I'm sore from laughing. BDSM...not my thing, but whatever floats your boat, you know? XD

Okay, who deleted my comment on this topic?! I had a comment on here and now I see it gone. I said nothing offensive. I just said I am not for gay marriage.

message 20: by Danyele (last edited Jun 12, 2013 07:32AM) (new)

Danyele Johnson | 204 comments Yeah, it's not illegal that you don't believe in equal rights for everyone. It's your opinion.
┐(・_・;)┌ Your not taking away anyones rights...errlol
But in all seriousness I don't believe in censorship though so, really whoever's doing it needs to stop.

Yeah, it doesn't make sense. I never said anything against gays or lesbians. I'm friends with some lesbians and bisexuals. But I said nothing that could hurt anybody.
I'm getting concerned about the person who's doing it. That person really has to stop and think about what he/she is doing.

Forgive me for sounding stupid, but what's censorship?

Clara H.K wrote: "I'm straight, but I'm against gays and bisexuals. Not the person him/herself, but what the person is doing."

That's a better way to explain what I believe. Thank you, Clara.
Although I know some people have same-sex attraction, but I believe the way the Catholic Church believes about it: They help the person who has same-sex attraction and even have a program to help out the person. That's a rather good idea, in my opinion.
And nope, not debating. Just saying. *whistles*

Censorship is the suppression of speech or other public communication which may be considered objectionable, harmful, sensitive, or inconvenient

There is a time and place for it but you simply saying you don't agree with it, like Clara says, isn't the place for it to be implemented.

Ohhh. I don't mean any harm to anybody, and I didn't see anything in my comment which could harm others at all. I still am wondering who on earth deleted that comment of mine and why. I'm pretty sure all the gays, lesbians, bisexuals, and transsexuals found nothing harmful in my comment…

Danyele Johnson | 204 comments @Clara

I agree to a part it is, especially how some countries use it (like Russia and China). But I believe there is a time and place for it. I think most of the time it isn't acceptable. Freedom of speech and all. But for sometimes when you are spreading around blind hate against people who explicitly say they do not want to hear it, and you are harassing them (which none of you are doing) that's when it should come in.

I think it's when people say "I hate gays and want to kill them" that is definitely wrong. Nobody holds any right whatsoever to kill another person for their actions. And when people say "I want to kill such-and-such race because I hate them" is wrong too. But if you simply say, "I don't support gay marriage" for example, that shouldn't be offensive. Know what I mean?

message 29: by [deleted user] (new)

I agree. Some could take offense though because by not giving them the same rights as everyone else, you are kind of treating them like a second-class citizen but that is neither here not there. And thank you! I love lions (=^・ェ・^=) lol

@Kylie there is another thread on this topic :)

message 31: by Danyele (last edited Jun 12, 2013 09:13AM) (new)

Danyele Johnson | 204 comments @Clara Oh okay :) And your absolutely right. Some countries who use it definitely make it a socialist measure, but not supporting gay marriage isn't socialist. It's simply not equality.

I learned a long time ago not to let what some simple minded people think about me ruin my chance to be happy and live a fulfilling life. If I go through life feeling ashamed and negative for something most others take for granted and don't have to worry about....then I've let the homophobes win regardless. As Frankie said "I did it my way" ;)
