Like previous Falling Skies it had a couple interesting bits, but they all seemed to peter out by the end. I don't know why they can't sustain a plot line. Maybe the writers need Cialis.

I was busy last night. I didn't get to watch it. I'm enjoying the premiere though.

James Phillips (jimmyjonjames) | 3 comments I like this show but havent seen the premier episode since I've cut the chord. I might try to watch it on Amazon Prime or wait till it shows up on Netflix.

James H. (jhedrick) | 128 comments Man, I must be the only unabashed fan of this series. I think it's great, especially its tendency to drop viewers right into the middle of storylines at the beginning of seasons. I'm a little bummed at how easily the military storyline was handwaved last season (being discrete b/c I'm too lazy to insert a spoiler tag), but it has some of the best looking special effects of any TV sci-fi show (I'm looking at you Warehouse 13). Good show, nothing too ground breaking and a little Spielberg schmaltzy but solid, high-quality sci-fi nonetheless.

Have you watched ORPHAN BLACK? The first season just finished, it's coming out on DVD and Blu-ray in July I think. It's a tremendous new sci-fi series.

Onto FALLING SKIES, I watched the first hour, I have the second hour still on the DVR. What cracked me up was 7 months had passed since the end of last season and ALL the characters kept saying things like "It's gotten so much better in these last 7 months", "we've really turned the tide these last 7 months", and "these last 7 months have really been tough on [insert random character name here]". No one talks like that! It was just painful watching them try to shoehorn in the exposition. I like most of the cast and the show is generally entertaining, but it's mostly mindless fluff.

Yeah, as much as I like this show, Orphan Black is much better.

It didn't bother me too much, but yeah..they could have handled it better.

I'm not really watching Falling Skies for deep plot/character development. I'm watching for cool special effects and alien battles.

I agree this is one of the few good sci-fi shows on TV.
Orphan Black is slightly better and Continuum as good.

Well when they seemed to have decent special effects they either can't keep interest or the actors wain. Can you say Eureka?
