My friend told me about this little-known book, The Beech Tree so I bought it and read it. It is a self-published book but, in my view, some publisher missed a gem. Unlike many novels which take on social injustice, The Beech Tree does so within the storyline, weaving an uplifting messaged into a truly entertaining story. The book spans generations and the evolution of the characters as they experience life. The book has been voted No. 1 on Listopia's 2016's BEST SUMMER READS and No, 5 on 2016 MUST READS! In my view, it is a book everyone should read.

The Beech Tree
I started reading The Underground Railroad a few days ago. I'm really enjoying it. I get back to it every spare moment.
Have you read Still Alice it is brilliant, I'm sorry if I'm repeating what everyone has already read but first time I've been on here, my name is Ann, I'm from the UK, I'm Disabled now I had a brain tumour and now everyone seems so clever I don't know if I should be on here.
I'm a third of the way through We Were Liars by E. Lockhart. Not sure if it's living up to the hype just yet, but with the short chapters, it's easy to read!
Finished
by Scott Stambach- 3 Stars.Deformed boy in a home for gravely ill children meets a beautiful girl with leukemia. So much STUFF, but ultimately just didn't love it.

@Edgle Giovanni's Room is wonderful, painful, sad. It had elements seen in last year's "A Little Life" though not as devastating!
Half the Sky - Nicholas Kristof & Sheryl WuDunnIt's a fascinating, heartbreaking and inspiring read that I recommend everyone read
I love listening to audiobooks when I'm out and about- currently I am listening to Isabel Allende- The Japanese lover
Thanks Lela, I'll see if I can find an used copy on amazon.com...Thank u for responding.Happy reading
Hi Heather,Having read and reread the book, HALF the SKY was such a phenomenal experience for me. My eyes became far more aware of the ill-treatment of women internationally. The book also highlighted the achievements that have been made regarding reproductive rights for women as well in health care issues. I became enraged, I smiled, I cried while reading this fine expose '! I agree with you; it's a MUST READ for everyone.
Bullying is a very painful subject. Most people don't know how to address it, some rather ignore it but it's there and it's not going anywhere. I suffered from it as a kid and unfortunately as an adult as well. I guess some people are doomed to carry that scar until they decide to do something about it. Writing can be a helpful therapy and this is how "Kay Kay, my Superhero koala bear!" came to life. In honor of the new school year, kindle edition of this book will be offered for free from 8/28 till 9/1. I wish you all a productive year surrounded with good friends and lots of smiles.
Hi Angela, please excuse any oddness this is the first time I have done this, and I have brain cancer and forget words so please be kind. If you don't mind French history the Angelique books are very good, they made me quite a big fan of The Sun King and his brother.
For Angela= One of the best books I have read is , "The Housemaids Daughter" by Barbara Mutch. Her next one coming out is-----"The Girl from Simon's Bay"----out in 2017. I can't wait! Another good one is---When Breath Becomes Air" by a young neurosurgeon. And then I heard "The Japanese Lover" is good from judiem
