And I'd like to introduce you to the illustrator, whose works were a big part of my childhood. His name is Jan Marcin Szancer, famous for his pictures for Andersen, Brzechwa and many more.

I'm giving link to google, as there is no official website.

H.S.J. Williams | 8 comments Oh, I LOVE art. Art and writing are meant to go together to tell a story.

Some of my favorite fantasy/fairy tale artists include:
Jenny Dolfen https://goldseven.wordpress.com/
PhantomRin http://phantomrin.tumblr.com/post/176...
And then of course the classic Henry Ford from the Andrew Lang fairy tale collections.

I also do fantastical-themed art myself: https://hsjwilliams.wordpress.com/

I had a chance encounter with a fairytale artist at the bookstore I work at, and now we've become online friends. Here's her instagram page: https://www.instagram.com/chandracerc...

She does really amazing sculptures.

Have we mentioned Kiki Smith? A famous fairytale artist. http://www.artnet.com/artists/kiki-sm...

Definitely check out Patricia Piccinini for some super weird and a bit grotesque fairytale art: https://www.patriciapiccinini.net/426/71#

Several years ago I went to a fairytale-themed exhibition at a local art gallery. Here's the brochure for that: http://frist-downloads.s3.amazonaws.c...

Asaria | 522 comments That reminds me I've forgotten Jean-Baptiste Monge (1971-), a French illustrator

Edit: I was browsing fairy tale illustrators lists, and here are a few artists, whose arts I found interesting. I'll edit this post again when something catches my eyes.

It is! I love that she shows her process.

I'm so glad I happened upon her at the bookstore I work at. I was shelving the fairytales section when she started looking through the section. I think she asked me if I had any weird fairytale books with illustrations, and then we got to talking. She told me she scours the fairytale section in search of images to help inspire her art. That piqued my interest, so of course I asked to see some, and was completely amazed! And then it turned out that we knew some of the same fairy tale people (like Theodora Goss, and by 'know' I mean I had lunch with Dora at ICFA and that's about it), and we just had a really delightfully nerdy conversation. She told me about writing for Faerie Magazine, and I talked about new fairytale books coming out. It's so rare to have real life conversations with people who are also obsessed with fairy tales.

Oh, wait, you go to ICFA, too??? I went for the second time this year and gave a reading from two anthologies!

Also, Dora is awesome. :)

And I write for Faerie, too, both fiction and nonfiction! In fact, I have a story in the current summer issue.

I presented a paper there a few years ago, and you attended that year too! I heard you read from the YA novel you're working on (loved it!). I haven't been again since. I'm an adjunct, and my university promised they would pay the travel expenses, but then they didn't.

I really should subscribe to Faerie. Maybe for Christmas!

wild~rose (wild-rose) | 63 comments Lisa Hunt has produced an entire Tarot deck, 78 cards, based on fairy tales, called appropriately, The Fairy Tale Tarot. It’s wildly OOP but you can view it here. http://www.thefairytaletarot.com

Baba Studios, an Eastern European company, has also produced a fairy tale Tarot deck, and also wildly OOP. You can see it here https://baba-store.com/collections/fa...
