Northern Lights (His Dark Materials, #1) by Philip Pullman - 5 Stars

'But think of Adam and Eve like an imaginary number, like the square root of minus one: you can never see any concrete proof that it exists, but if you include it in your equations, you can calculate all manner of things that couldn't be imagined without it.'

The Subtle Knife (His Dark Materials, #2) by Philip Pullman - 5 Stars

'She had asked: What is he? A friend or an enemy?
The alethiometer answered: He is a murderer.
When she saw the answer, she relaxed at once. He could find food, and show her how to reach Oxford, and those were powers that were useful, but he might still have been untrustworthy or cowardly. A murderer was a worthy companion. She felt as safe with him as she'd done with Iorek Byrnison the armoured bear.'

Old Magic by Marianne Curley - 4 Stars

'I recall the look in Rhauk's eyes the moment he spotted Kate. It will stay with me forever, carved into my brain like an engraving on a headstone. It's as if he found something he treasured, something he's been looking for all his life.'

The Amber Spyglass (His Dark Materials, #3) by Philip Pullman - 5 Stars

'Maybe sometimes we don't do the right thing because the wrong thing looks more dangerous, and we don't want to look scared, so we go and do the wrong thing just because it's dangerous. We're more concerned with not looking scared than with judging right.'

"So do I," said Gandalf, "and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us."

The Locket Thief by Daniel Patrick

Ah, how I loved this book! It was such a pleasure to follow Lara's steps through her journey onboard the sky thieves' ship. Not to reveal too much - the book keeps you breathless till the very last page. The best things about this novel were exciting cliff-hangers at the end of every chapter. It made me want to read more! :-)

A.M.C. A.M.C. (adamcroft83) | 13 comments Hi all! My debut novel is now released, description as follows:

Nearly 10 years after witnessing the death of his family during an alien invasion, Alex is recruited as part of an elite group tasked with engaging the aliens at their home planet before they return to enslave mankind. However the group soon realise that their foe and the Galaxies are far more deadly and ruthless than they feared, and learn from another alien race the true extent of the 5 power forces which wield unlimited supremacy. After accidentally harnessing one of these powers it becomes clear that Alex’s fate is intertwined with the destiny of the power forces, and he becomes embroiled in a battle with the vast armies of his dark enemy across the Galaxies, leading to a momentous battle which will define the destiny for all living beings throughout the cosmos. Fast paced, full of action but with a real violent edge this book is ideal for anyone who enjoys Star Wars, Lord of the Rings or Game of Thrones!

Interested? Check it out now - http://t.co/v4OAPslShY

Lea Carter (klcislc) | 5 comments My fourth book is on the last leg of the editing merry-go-round and I am looking for some advance readers/reviewers!
Troubled Skies is part of a series (Silver Sagas) but I've tried to write it as a stand-alone book. If you like light fantasy (no vampires, werewolves, or zombies) and would be willing to read an ebook in advance of its release (I will make free mobi ecopies available in exchange for honest reviews), please let me know. I'm looking for up to ten reviewers who are willing to post their reviews on Amazon.com the day Troubled Skies comes out on Kindle (5/30/2014).
More information about the book/series can be found here: https://sites.google.com/site/leasboo...
If you are interested, please post below or message me directly. Thank you!
