Nominations are now open for the July Group Read and will close on 17th June 2013. Voting will then be from 18th to 26th June 2013.

You may nominate 1 book

Value books will be those from freebies board or good finds.

General rules for Group Reads

1) If your nomination wins - you will be asked to be the discussion moderator.

2) No self-nominations by authors.

3) Please try not to repeat an author we have read in the last year. Check the bookshelves to see the authors we've read in the past year.
http://www.goodreads.com/group/booksh...

4) For your nomination please try and include Title, Author and Link (Use the "add book/author" link at the top of the comment box).

If you nominate a book that is part of a series please be sure that it can be read as a standalone for those members that may not have read the other books in the series.

Right fistly you can only nominate one book and not two.

The Apocalypse does not appear to be a crime, mystery or thriller and would not qualify for our group read.

The Newton Inheritance I will leave as it is a thriller as it appears to be about Jane Bond 007.

Let's read Tim Ellis's A Life for a Life as a value book. I expect some of our readers would find Parrish & Richards a bit on the fluffy side, but I enjoy them & they are super el cheepo.

I will go with David Morrell's newest book, Murder As A Fine Art. Here is the link.

Good call Bill as it is only 77pence and $1.17. I have added it to the group Amazon Stores under a new page of July Group Read Nominations in case anybody wishes to order it anyway.
It is now our first value read nomination for July.

My nomination for the main Group Read this month is
The Murder Wall by Mari Hannah

The Murder Wall by Mari Hannah

I have chosen this as it is the first in the series of a series involving the character Kate Daniels. I believe the author is upto to 3 in the series now.

This book though is....
"Eleven months after discovering a brutal double murder in a sleepy Northumbrian town, Detective Chief Inspector Kate Daniels is still haunted by her failure to solve the case. Then the brutal killing of a man on Newcastle’s Quayside gives Daniels another chance to get it right, and her first case as Senior Investigating Officer. When Daniels recognises the corpse, but fails to disclose the fact, her personal life swerves dangerously into her professional life. But much worse, she is now being watched. As Daniels steps closer to finding a killer, a killer is only a breath away from claiming his next victim…"

THis is a relatively new series and this book has had 59 reviews on goodreads averaging 3.54.

Value Book Nomination added is:-
A Well-Deserved Murder by Katherine John

A Well Deserved Murder by Katerine John

""Sergeant Peter Collins' cousin, journalist and photographer, Alan Piper, is living next door to the neighbours from Hell. They build a deck that overlooks his patio and monitor his every movement. Under the cover of darkness they steal plants and building materials from his garden, but when his gate and gatepost disappear he calls in the police who advise him to put up a CCTV camera. Alan has a better idea. Mousy civil servant Kacy Howell is amazed to suddenly find herself the centre of attention at work and showered with unprompted gifts of flowers, chocolates and - discreetly wrapped sex toys. Her husband, George, is bewildered until a colleague shows him a pornographic magazine aimed at the amateur photographer. Before George finds out if the photos are real, Kacy is found battered to death on the decking that overlooks Alan's garden. Inspector Trevor Joseph and Sergeant Peter Collins find themselves wanting to look beyond the obvious suspect for a murder, which Kacy's neighbours have already Christened 'justifiable homocide'."
