Jennifer | 185 comments I know what you are thinking: It's June, you crazy.
Yeah, I know. Recently I have gotten really excited about Halloween, so I really want to get a costume idea that I can get started on over the summer.
I would really enjoy doing a book-themed costume, but it would need to be something that is recognizeable but not overdone. Something Shakespeare might be nice, but so many of those characters would need pretty intense costumes.
Another idea was Alice from Resident evil (desert Alice), but... meh.
It doesn't need to be book-themed, and it can be a couple's costume. Here are the last two years:

Any suggestions, people? I have a friend who is great at sewing who volunteered her services, if needed.

TL;DR I need an awesome costume. All ideas welcome, especially nerdy ones. The more exciting the better!!!!

Ashley (icecheeseplease) I think a Shakespearean style costume would be really cool! I mean, who doesn't want one of these gorgeous dresses?

David Ranney (davidranney) I got you pegged as a Lyanna Stark. Your partner can go as (view spoiler).

Not ambitious enough? Bring your armor and quick-change into The Knight of the Laughing Tree. Too obscure? Just tell people you're Arya. Too nerdy? I mean, I'd walk across the room to start a conversation with you.

Look for the guy dressed up at Brynden 'le Blackfish' Tully.

Jennifer | 185 comments @ashley, that pic is awesome! But just the thought of showing that to my friend and saying "here! Make this for me!"... I had a friend go as Lady Macbeth last year... Wandered around with fake blood on her hands. It was great.

@David, I never would have thought of Lyanna! It would give me a great excuse for some wolf-themed accessories..... But then people would be asking me who I am all night. I could really be any Stark.

Ben | 2 comments Why not go as Lady Stoneheart? It would be pretty easy and you wouldn't have to talk to anyone!

Jennifer | 185 comments @Ben, I actually was considering that! I could make a gnarly throat scar....
