( ˘ ³˘)♥ Jay Sitting at the window one one of the cafe stools, Jack inhaled the bitter and rich aroma of the cafe. The swirling scents of cinnamon and coffee and many other aromas floated through the air. Not as appealing as the scent of alcohol in a crowded club, in Jack's personal opinion, but still rather nice. Turning in the chair his back faced the rest of the cafe, his amber eyes looking down into the cup in front of him. He didn't even know what it was. The young lady behind the register recommended it and caught up in storm of uncontrolled flirting, well he allowed her to order for him. Now he would see if it was a mistake. Picking up the steaming cup, Jack had to be glad for the heat. Heat was always good. Refreshing. As the liquid sloshed in his mouth he had to resist the urge to spit it out. Far too sweet for his own preference....which is why the cup was set down and the refreshment swallowed begrudgingly. Disgusting.

wanderer (chloemai) Entering the cafe, the strong, almost forceful scents of the little place barreled into her, filling her nostrils with the harsh scent of coffee's and other equally pungently smelling drinks, paired with the smells of various sweeteners and flavorings. Overall Nessie couldn't quite decide if she liked the smell of the cafe, or absolutely hated it. It was one of those places. She idly swept a hand through her fiery locks, chocolate brown irises taking an alert glance around the place before she found herself stepping up to the counter, politely ordering a hot chocolate and bagel. It was her normal order. You see, Ness wasn't one to be fond of change. She was set in her ways, and that was that. Sighing as she waited, she found herself nibbling on her plump, bottom lip that had been perfectly glossed over, tapping her manicured nails on the wooden counter as she waited impatiently.

( ˘ ³˘)♥ Jay Well that disgusting excuse of a drink wouldn't do. Not at all. So naturally, Jack spun in the chair and slid off the seat in one fluid motion, a practiced sort of motion. He'd spent enough mornings at the cafe, getting coffee to help expel a headache or two, to know how to get out of his favorite sitting spot. Striding up to the counter to order another drink his eyes raked over the menu behind the counter, the gears in his brain whirring to make a good interesting new choice. Unfortunately his path towards a good choice was distracted by the insentience tapping of a girls nails against the counter. Every time his brain started to make a choice her nails would drum and he sighed and walked right up to Vanessa, standing right alongside her before looking down and to the left slightly in her direction, "Impatient?" He asked curiously, an underlying layer of a teasing tone to his voice and a smirk tugging at the corners of his lips.

wanderer (chloemai) God what was taking so long? She hated waiting. It was just one of her many pet peeves. Her highest ranking one however, would have to be when people bumped into her and didn't apologise. But she could talk endlessly about how rude it was and how people should have more manners, so we'll just skip over that. Instead she lifted her eyes to the ceiling of the place, studying the burgendy paint absentmindedly. She was on her usual route to work, and this place was usually just a pit stop. It's not as if she didn't have any time. In fact she had plenty of it. Ness wasn't in any rush at all. She just liked to be early. Her gaze flickered to her left side as a voice sounded in her ear, and one corner of her lip rose just a smidgen into the smallest of smiles. "You could say." She replied, peeking up at the stranger through her dark lashes. "What are you going to order?" she went on, deciding to occupy herself with mindless conversation whilst she waited. It was better than ruining her nails after all.

( ˘ ³˘)♥ Jay "Most likely black coffee." Jack replied after all that was his default whenever he couldn't pick something and with the way this girl was now engaging in conversation? Well he wouldn't have any chance to pick what he wanted...So coffee it was. "Is there a reason behind this impatience? Someplace you need to be? Or is it simply impatience to be impatient?" After all if she was impatient enough to drum her nails, rol her eyes towards the ceiling and then sort of have the skin around her eyes tighten in a way that indicated irritation, it was obvious she must've had a place to be. No one got irritated about the time because they were early someplace. Or at least Jack didn't. In fact Jack was usually late to things. Tardiness? It was his friend. Being early? Never heard of for him. If he was early someplace it meant that everyone he was going to meet there had died. Simple as that.

wanderer (chloemai) Ness wrinkled her nose at his choice of drink, clearly not a big fan of black coffee, and it was visible simply by the somewhat disgusted look on her face. "Not my type of drink, but each to their own I guess." She stated with a light shrug of her shoulders, pursing her lips as she now laid her palm flat against the counter, angling herself a little more so she could get a better view of him. He was quite handsome in that sort of 'clean shaven' sense, and it was obvious by the clothes that he was wearing as well as his somewhat businessman like appearance that he took care of himself. "I have work." She offered up. "I start at 10." she elaborated. Considering it was now only just turned 9 and it took her about a half hour to get to work, time was something she wasn't lacking in. "How about you? Got anywhere to be this morning?" Ness found herself questioning. Again, it was smalltalk. Chitchat. Nessie was good at that kind of thing. It was when you got talking about more deeper things that she cracked.

( ˘ ³˘)♥ Jay "And yet you must be there by what? 9?" Jack questioned a teasing lilt pulling at his words. Smiling at her he laughed slightly and shrugged off her criticism of his choice of drink, after all no doubt she was ordering something sweet like a strawberry and creme frappachino or even hot chocolate. Nothing too strong for her no doubt delicate tastebuds. Sighing slightly he watched her assess him, as if taking in his appearance and judging the type of person he was just based on his looks. Oh how surprised she might be if she knew more about him. "So, my dear," Leaning down slightly and lowering his voice his amber eyes warming to a glowing honey gold he couldn't help but be curious. "What are you?" He figured she wasn't a werewolf or shifter by the way she hadn't yet tried to kill him. But he was curious about her. She could be anything really. He'd only been here for a year so he didn't have much idea on who anyone was.

wanderer (chloemai) "Maybe." Ness answered somewhat shortly. "I just don't wanna be late. Tardiness isn't my forte, you could say." she elaborated with a shake of her head, causing her waved hair to sway slightly with the light motion. She had to chew the inside of her cheek to prevent herself smiling wider. It was the truth that Nessie absolutely despised her smile. She was sure she just looked awkward and ugly and being insecure about the way she looked as it was it wasn't really something she made a task of doing. Instead she managed to keep that little half smile right in place. She flickered her eyes to him, catching on the the amber hue that they were glowing and for a moment catching herself beginning to get scared, although she threw this prospect out the window. he clearly wasn't a shifter or werewolf, because no doubt he'd have killed her by now. Instead she let the smallest sliver of silver appear around her pupil before instructing it to disppear once more. "Caster." She murmured softly, so as not to be heard by anybody else.

( ˘ ³˘)♥ Jay Ahhh, so she was a caster like him. Well it wasn't that surprising that he didn't know her. He didn't know a lot of the casters, probably because he spent more time with the vampires or flirting with humans even to spend a bunch of time with the casters. It was more fun to spend time around the humans. Light up a candle with his eyes and tell them it was a magic trick and they got all giddy about things. Of course they always assumed it was just a human magic trick, nothing of the real kind. "Ahh so you're one of those people. Better to be three hours early than three seconds late, kind of people." It was obvious that was just an extreme exaggeration but the overall effect was still the same. Finally it appeared her order was done as the girl came back to the counter and held out a bagel and a cup for the girl to take. "So do you have a name? Or can I just call you Red?" He smirked slightly, her hair was obviously a nice trait in his mind. Made her stand out in a crowd. That was always a good thing.

wanderer (chloemai) Ness had decided quite quickly that he was the same as her. That he was also a Caster. She was sure though, that the main difference between the two of them was that he probably still used his powers. She, however, had sworn never to use them again. She didn't trust herself, trust was she was capable of doing. After that incident with her father? Well she promised herself she would never go back there. She'd never sink to that level again. And the best way, that Ness had decided she would do that, was to drop her powers completely and not use them at all. "Well that's blowing it a bit out of proportion. I'd just like to think of it as getting an early start. And the plus side is my boss usually lets me out early, so it has its up sides." she nodded as she spoke before flickering her gaze toward the girl at the counter. "S-sorry it took so long Miss. I'm new here." The young girl who couldn't have been more than 16 stuttered. At this information Ness simply smile before fishing around in her purse and handing over the money, popping a few pieces of spare change into the tips jar before grabbing her order and tilting her head up to look at him. "Vanessa." She offered up. "But most of the time its Ness or Nessie." She finshed, lightly shrugging her shoulders. "And you are...?" Ness gestured to him offhandedly with a motion of her head as she backed off slightly from the front of the line so he would be able to order.

( ˘ ³˘)♥ Jay "Jack." He replied easily, smiling lightly at her and watching as she tipped the girl for being new. Nodding at her with his chin he stepped past the flame haired female and up to the counter ordering a black coffee to go before turning his attention back to Vanessa. "I do hope that you get to your job early. It was nice.......conversing with you." There was a pause between his words as if he had to search for the correct way to label their little encounter. They hadn't really held any real conversation in his mind. Nothing deep enough to actually strike a bond between them as friends or anything. In fact apart from learning her name, her species, and she had a love of being on time. Well he didn't know much of anything about her. Putting the money on the counter as the girl behind the counter handed him his drink he nodded at her, "See you around, Red." Smirking he walked out of the cafe, sure he knew her name. Still he would call her red.

Mimi Luna (Akia-chan) | 6 comments Lebani entered the cafe slowly, looking around as she made her way to the counter in a conservative strut. This is a very nice cafe. I should come here more often. Once she made it to the counter, she placed her hands softly on the surface and cleared her throat to get the cashier's attention. "Hello. May I have a latte with a powdered donut on the side, please?" she ordered softly, giving the cashier a sweet and beautiful smile. The cashier smiled back and nodded his head, hurrying off to make her order. A minute or so later, the cashier came back and handed Lebani her order, giving her the price which she happily paid. She thanked the cashier one more time before making her way over to the seats facing the window, planting herself gently on one of the stools. She sighed and pulled her back form fitting shirt down, folding her legging-clad legs before she began to sip her latte. She hummed softly at the taste before taking another sip.
