Piers A brilliant and beautiful book that raises the goose flesh and makes you want to be a writer or at least meet the author; to just sit back and listen to a person so multi faceted and intriguing as Mr Hill must have been.

I have listened to a couple of other Reginald Hill books but I think this is his masterpiece and have recommended it to many people. The unabridged audio version read by Jonathan Keeble is completely immersive.

Literary perfection

Katy Defay I agree with you completely!

Cathleen Sessions I was really taken by this book. I have always liked Reginald Hill and this is the best I have read.

Ernest Ohlmeyer I think The Stranger House is really great, too.
