Feel free to PM me if there's anything on my kindle-lending shelf that you're interested in. :) http://www.goodreads.com/review/list/...

message 2: by SYL (new)

SYL (syleegurl) I don't know how to link my "owned" books list.

Does this work? http://www.goodreads.com/owned_books/... (or does this take you to YOUR lists?)

message 3: by [deleted user] (new)

@Susan: It takes me to a blank list. Maybe mine?

I killed my kindle lend shelf awhile back when I took most of my books off GR.

If someone is looking for m/m from 2010-2011, chances are I have it, although not all of it is on Amazon. Ask me! Poor Emma is probably out of luck here, living in such a remote and barbaric location, but we can work these things out. :)

It took me to my own list (which is blank.) I made a shelf for what kindle books that I have that are still lendable.

message 5: by [deleted user] (new)

It's really too bad we don't have something huge and awesome to read this month. Like ICoS or TA. Sigh. Oh well, I have a TBR that needs emptying, about 100 fanfics to read through, and some stuff that is on my kindle and I have no idea why I bought it or even what it is.

message 6: by SYL (new)

SYL (syleegurl) Yeah, I'm gonna try and get through my already-owned-TBR stuff instead of searching out new free stuff (tempting).

Let's make a read list here in this group! (If people are up for that...) I can link to fanfic then since most aren't in GR. :)

Oh, I just saw Susan's list thread. Great idea! I'll do something like that too. :D

I just made my random list of things I need to read finally...old stuff. Please keep me accountable. :)

SYL (syleegurl) Ha! I love Weasel's stipulations! :) Good that you set those up front before we start. ha!

I have it Daniel. I can lend it if you want.

message 12: by [deleted user] (new)

No, it's not bad. I didn't like as much as Deb (Dlee), though, but I thought it had a nice period feel. Hang on, I have to go find it.

Weasel wrote: "Kate wrote: "I have it Daniel. I can lend it if you want."

Oh, sweet! That would be great. Assuming it's not crap, obviously."

I can't find it. It's either on a memory stick--in which case you may still be in luck, or it's one of the few books I lost when my computer crapped out last year.

I can borrow books, but I can't loan books :(

That's okay still. :) If there's anything you want to borrow, ask away.

message 16: by Jenn (new)

Jenn I'm not shitting you, I have 600 m/m tbr OWN. Gahhhh, I have to read some of those. It's gotten so bad I'm forgetting if I actually read some books bc I didn't mark them all at first on GRs. Anyhoo, I have all of those plus hundreds more that I've read. If anyone sees anything they want and I have it marked on a shelf (any shelf - I probably own it), just ask away. I don't mind. :)

I'm probably going to keep reading BDB until Lenore and Susan and I do our SoI&F buddy read.

I probably have plenty to read without buying anything new this month, especially since I already ordered Fear, Hope, and Bread Pudding. It's just the thought of promising not to buy anything that makes me anxious. Though maybe if I have stipulations similar to Daniel's...

I don't buy much at Amazon, but I do have some. And tons of my Fictionwise books were converted to lendable Nook books. So, like Jenn, if you see something on my shelves, feel free to ask me about it.

@Jenn - the library notified me that LaVyrle Spencer book is in, so I'll be ready to read it maybe late next week or the week after.

message 18: by Jenn (last edited Jun 01, 2013 09:06PM) (new)

Jenn Ohhh! See, we have plenty to read. Great. I'll make a note to start that when you are. :) although I may only have time to read 1-2, instead of all 3. But seriously, her writing is beautiful.

I wanted to read Cole & John's follow-up, too, but I'll wait on reviews. I'll be bummed if it's not great.

message 19: by Jess (new)

Jess Candela (jesscandela) | 9 comments Mod
Yeah, there's no fear of running out of books any time soon. But that doesn't mean the NEW and SHINY lose their allure! ;)

I'll let you know when I'm ready to start the Spencer book. I'm seriously nervous about the sequel to SFD, but I can't not read it. Especially when I could pre-order it during Dreamspinner's sale... *is weak*

LenaLena (marilenalena) | 46 comments Just to be clear: does this mean no downloading new fanfiction? Because I am not sure I can do that. Although I am willing to try. Right after I transfer the latest batch to my kindle.

LenaLena wrote: "Just to be clear: does this mean no downloading new fanfiction? Because I am not sure I can do that. Although I am willing to try. Right after I transfer the latest batch to my kindle."

Nope, you can download. No money, no foul. Download all the fics or lendable books you want!

I think most people are trying to get their Bought-but-not-read pile down to size. Me, I'm trying to get the monster real paper books pile under control.

message 23: by LenaLena (last edited Jun 02, 2013 12:39PM) (new)

LenaLena (marilenalena) | 46 comments O, easy peasy then!

I still think I should try to get through the stuff already on my kindle. To actually make this a challenge.

message 24: by Emma Sea (new)

Emma Sea (pekapeka) Yeah, I'm counting on fanfics to save me from all this crap I seem to have collected

message 25: by SYL (new)

SYL (syleegurl) I realize a lot of the books I own and haven't read are the shitty ones they give for free on Dreamspinner's tweetaways. I'd say 1 in 10 of those are worth reading, but I download every one of them. I may just delete those since I didn't pay for them and don't want the pressure to read them. Then my list will be closer to 150 owned-to-read. Woot!

message 26: by [deleted user] (new)

150 is pretty manageable. I stopped downloading stuff I'd never read a long time ago. But my Kindle is still cluttered with freebies and junk I haven't sorted through. Hopefully some of it will go away this month as I skim through, think "WTH?" and delete it.

Or you could do what I do, and create a separate Calibre library for them. I have 'Calibre M/M' and 'Calibre M/M Meh' for the books I've already read and didn't like as much or already bought and don't expect to like much. That keeps me from seeing them every day, but they're still handy in case I want them for some reason... like maybe one (or more) of my GR friends makes it irresistible to find out for myself just how bad it is. ;)

SYL (syleegurl) Are the Perry Mason's lendable? I'd be interested in reading one...

That's what most of my unread pile consisted of also. I can't even call it a TBR pile because, honestly, no. At least I miss 90% of the hourlong giveaways so even that list is short.

Jenn Can anyone loan Openly Straight to me?

I made a kindle lendable shelf this morning. It's not very long so take a second and browse!

I hate to ask this, but does anyone have Power Play: Awakening available to lend? Apparently I'm a glutton for punishment.

Cheryl wrote: "I hate to ask this, but does anyone have Power Play: Awakening available to lend? Apparently I'm a glutton for punishment."

You are. Most people loved it and thought it redeemed the first book. I thought it made things worse. LOL. Sorry, I don't have a lendable copy, though.

message 38: by Cheryl (new)

Cheryl | 28 comments Mod
That's OK, I got one through the m/m romance group. So far it's not redeeming the first book, more like pretending it never happened.

That's exactly it. I think of it like a do-over.

I think my review may have credited the authors with a degree of narrative sophistication that they did not actually intend.

Well, you're a very generous person and I think it's lovely that you thought the best of them. I think Rachel likes to write torture porn, so she did. But she writes so well she can get away with it.
