Claudia | 1 comments I am a firm believer that comparing a movie to the book it was based upon does not really make that much sense, as the experiences (reading vs watching)are so different.
Still, there are a few movies I have seen in the past that capture the atmosphere nicely, e.g. Of Mice and Men (with J. Malkovich)or Midnight in the Garden Of Good And Evil...any thoughts?

Jonathan | 8 comments I'm going to have to respectfully disagree with your assessment of the film version of "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil", which I found to be lifeless. However, I agree with your overall point: Films have to be judged on their own merits.
