Isabella Bird's letters/writing concerning her trek from San Francisco to Colorado in 1873. I started reading for a class and have found the writing and content quite enjoyable. Made me nostalgic for the old west and frontier.

Penelope Marzec I enjoyed the book. It was rather amazing, but I do think Isabella Bird was a little bit crazy. She was evidently made of iron, too.

Zorro I thought the book was amazing too! Isabella had true grit!

Pam Living in Colorado, it was very fun to read about places that I know and learn what they were like so many years ago. Isabella was brave... that kind of courage to explore alone in rough country and among unknown people - wow! She is an amazing role model - girl power!
