I was kinda upset when only Natalie was eliminated throughout this whole book. I was like come on! Couldn't it just be down to America, Kriss and Celeste at the end of the book????

well...Marlee was eliminated I don't think he should bother with Celeste. It's clearly between America and Kriss. Why put everyone through the torture of Celeste unnecessarily...
i think that it all happens as it was needed you know? think about it - we know why Celeste is there -at least we thought we did - given that Mexon's father liked her as a match. i just didn't enjoy the hook up scene with her.for Kriss, well that was the inevitable final other girl....so i'm not shocked that she's still around
i'm glad that we got the Marlee resolution and i like how that all worked out in the end too. not only was her departure/return great but i think that it helped America grow up in the way that she needs to in order to become princess.

I feel like there is something up with Kriss and that's why she stays around in the book. And I also feel like something is gonna happen between Celeste and America...Just my gut feeling going lol.
You know that Marlee was eliminated, right? Yes, I definitely believe that Celeste, Kriss, and America will be the last ones standing. It is so hard to guess who will win..... Major plot twist: Maxon catches Aspen kissing America.
You know what I think would be awesome but sad? If the king was so mad he dragged America in his office to whip her, and just as the whip comes back Maxon intercepts to save her.
I don't know about y'all, but if someone did that for me I would totally kiss him.
I know! Every time they sneak off together I am just like NOOOOOO! Or freak out waiting for them to get caught, even if there not kissing but just caught together somewhere private. I mean ugh it would just ruin everything, they need to quit it! Lol.
Celeste shouldnt have even made it to last five, seriously who abuses the maids now those are some deep issues
Jasmine wrote: "Celeste shouldnt have even made it to last five, seriously who abuses the maids now those are some deep issues"I know. They're maids. not servants. If Celeste was real, I would have b**** slapped her by now. :P

LOL get someone to hold her and ill help

hahaha thanks. But maybe a baseball bat would help too... who knows? maybe her head's a baseball and I just have to give it a good whack?
Guys, I think you're being too nice to Celeste. I'm all for beheading her and sticking her head on a pike for being such a nasty little Barbie. It's that or tie her to a pole like in the Middle Ages, and burn her while dancing around like some voodoo priest. :) I think you can guess, I didn't like her.
I don't even care how many people were eliminated, what bugs me is that Celeste is still there. I don't understand Maxon, he has to know something is wrong with Celeste. Is he just keeping her around for make out sessions, or like? I don't know.

Miriam wrote: "Guys, I think you're being too nice to Celeste. I'm all for beheading her and sticking her head on a pike for being such a nasty little Barbie. It's that or tie her to a pole like in the Middle Age..."go right ahead feel free :) but im not sure i could stomach all of that :/
I think that it was a bit annoying that Kiera did not allow many people to be eliminated... other than Natalie and Marlee, but I think there were so many other moments to capture that it did not bother me very much. I thought Maxon knew better than just to keep a girl- Celeste, in this case- because she is a model, is aggressive, and wants the crown. I am still, though, not annoyed by the little amount of eliminations. There were so many other great things to realize and take in the book, so I suppose it didn't bother me.I think, too, that Celeste does not even deserve to be in the top three- at all. If she becomes the princess instead of America, I will scream.
I don't like it too :O Actually I was expecting that Maxon will choose already in this book but I guess I shouldn't have hope much.
I want Kriss out of there. She is so annoying. I really don't care if she's nice, but the fact that Maxon likes her just as much as America makes me want to throw my book across the room.
I think we all know that eventually Maxon is going to catch America and Aspen. I also imagine that if he eliminates Elise all hell will break loose from New Asia; like a big war on the country. All the rebel attacks have to lead to something. I hope that Celeste gets put in her place...

With America it's a natural liking. He forces himself to spend time with Kriss because he isn't sure if America likes him anymore.
Omg i totally agree with you. But it seems that with all the things that aren't resolved, another book won't be enough. Like they have to figure out the thing about New Asia, the rebel thing going on, Maxon's next wife... Too many things for a 200-300 book...Idk...

I know it is so infuriating. She ruins every moment with Maxon. "I need time." We know America. Stop saying it. Maxon says something sweet or kisses her and she doesn't reciprocate she just says "I need more time." Oh who do I want? Maxon who has been nothing but sweet and kind and basically handed me a princess crown? or Aspen who dumped me and shattered my heart and now desperately wants me back? talk about a hard choice (NOT). Just pick darn it! I threw my book across the room far too many times... I kept saying: "America stop crying. America don't whine. What do you mean you can't think of a philanthropist idea? Don't tell your dad about the diary! Stop being jealous it's your fault! Stop screwing around with Aspen! Stop crying. Why do you feel betrayed, you basically did the same thing with Aspen!? Stop complaining. Stop feeling sorry for yourself. Stop crying." America, you really annoyed me in this book but I am willing to forgive you if you straighten yourself out before The One.
Yeah, I was kinda disapointed in this book. There wasn't enough new conflict to drive it, I felt. So Aspen has a hold on her heart. Already knew that. Being queen entails more than America thinks that she is ready for. Already knew that. Maxon doesn't have feelings just for her. Already knew that too. The only thing that kept things really moving along was that the rebels kept getting closer and closer. I was expecting some sort of huge plot twist that would change everything and leave me wanting for The One desperately, like America getting Kidnapped by the rebels, or the King dying. But no. I felt like Cass kinda just played it safe, and chose to go to the easiest route, which is why only one was eliminated, and the other disqualified. I felt like there was way more that could have happen in the book, that didn't.

The plot didn't really move much, and I thought America would choose between Maxon and Aspen in this book...but nooooooooooo.
Rachel wrote: "She said she was going to fight for Maxon and she turned Aspen away."Doesn't Aspen still hold some part of America's heart?
I agree Chandana. The Elite's plot didn't move as much as the Selection's did, and certainly not as much as I expected it to.

OOOHHHHHH THAT IS A REALLY GOOD QUESTION!!!!!
Miriam wrote: "Guys, I think you're being too nice to Celeste. I'm all for beheading her and sticking her head on a pike for being such a nasty little Barbie. It's that or tie her to a pole like in the Middle Age..."ooohhh I think I'll have popcorn while watching this!
You just made me laugh. What kind? Kettlecorn? Mmmmm... I can really only imagine how much pleasure I have when Celeste will be shown a nasty little Barbie to the world.
some thing i dont get is that if Maxon was sooooo sure he wanted America then why not just propose and get the selection over with if he knew he wanted her so badly and even if he wasnt sure she wanted it who cares if he loves her he should have ended it with everyone else also he should trust that America wouldnt leave him
Cindy wrote: "some thing i dont get is that if Maxon was sooooo sure he wanted America then why not just propose and get the selection over with if he knew he wanted her so badly and even if he wasnt sure she wa..."Some guys want to know that their girl wants them whole-heartedly. Some don't care, they'll get her in any way they can. What type of guy is Maxon? Aspen says he's the second type...
I suppose that Maxon is a mixture of both. He'll get her in every way he can, but he still wants to make sure that the girl he chooses whole-heartedly loves him. Maybe that's why the Selection is dragging on so long.
Rachel wrote: "I know it is so infuriating. She ruins every moment with Maxon. "I need time." We know America. Stop saying it. Maxon says something sweet or kisses her and she doesn't reciprocate she just says "I..."hahahaha! Amazing. Totally felt the same way though not put as humorously. :)
True, Marlee was eliminated also... just in a different "fashion". Although she still lives in the palace secretly...
Marlee was eliminated from the Selection. Even though I was sad about her beating, I liked that Maxon did what he could to ensure her life would be worthwhile for as long as it lasted. Soooooo sweet!
but it was sooooo annoying when America just yelled at him for not doing anything but realy he did so much more i cant believe America would just judge him like that
America judges a lot of people, in my opinion. I hope it's just the Selection that has her shaken up.
