Oh do tell about number 3 on the list: "Twelve Impossible Things Before Breakfast"! I love the title! Does it relate to Douglas Adams's work as the title implies?

Debbie Judith:

No, the title actually refers to a conversation between the Alice and the White Queen in Through the Looking Glass.

When Alice says that she doesn't believe impossible things, the White Queen replies, "Why, sometimes I’ve believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast..."

The book is a collection of 12 short stories, some fractured fairy tales and some scary stories.

Alan | 290 comments Is there a 400+ book challenge? Obviously I'm falling behind.

Your list seems pretty far off from mine -- I have Manzanar on a shelf with a couple dozen Japanese internment and relocation books, once read some of Ovid, Silko with a stack of NM books, and that's about it.

Am planning to get Secret Life of Bees, and Hoops has been on my "read on a plane trip" shelf for awhile. Right now my plane trip is catching up on Kathy Reichs and Daniel Hecht.

Debbie I teach middle school, so most of what I read is young adult lit, which is generally very quick and easy for me to read. So my reading list may look impressive, but a lot of it is fluff.

I am in a couple of adult book groups so that I won't entirely neglect books that actually challenge me.
