Nathaniel gave a small shrug, looking back toward the entrance. "I don't know... unless it was that one guy who barreled out of here," he turned back, looking at the siblings. "He took a right, if that's the case." He forced himself to give an answer, for her brother's sake. Normally he probably wouldn't have given someone the information he had, but what would he do in this situation?
Petrus' placid expression contorted into something else for only a second. "Thanks," he said, before stalking out. Morticia sighed, watching him go. "You shouldn't have told him," she murmured, turning back to Nathaniel.
Nathaniel looked after Petrus, then back to Morticia after her comment. "Probably not... however, he still doesn't know who I was talking about. I didn't give a description... besides, I thought about what I would want to hear if that same thing happened to my own sister. I'd want to hear anything but plain 'I don't know'," he explained in a soft tone, starting to roll the lighter around in his pocket.
"There's a difference between murdering one person, and murdering thirty-five," Morticia stated, "And having mental instability, and a single break." She pursed her lips, looking over to Nathaniel. "You have a sister?"
Nathaniel knew what Morticia was saying, but being an older brother, it was easy to relate, even if Petrus was nothing like himself. "Yes, she's twelve... her name's Lauren. She's part of the reason I killed my father..." He looked at Morticia, "Your brother would do anything to protect you, wouldn't he?"
"He already has done 'anything'," Morticia replied, eyes down, "And it got him here, as well. I think I understand the need to protect someone so much that you'd destroy the rest of your life for it, but I don't see the logical reasoning in telling my currently unstable brother where to find someone that he could quite possibly beat to death within five minutes of finding them."
"I didn't tell him where... I told him where I last saw someone who seemed.. angry," Nathaniel reasoned, mumbling tendencies showing themselves less and less. "I didn't tell him who it was, and I didn't say what he looked like. I don't see the problem you seem to see," he didn't say it with the intentions of being rude, more just stating facts.
"Said angry person could also be an innocent person," Morticia responded, "Innocent in the sense of hitting me, of course." She frowned, sighing softly again. "I guess it's all up to chance now. May her mercy shine over whomever he reaches."
"..." Nathaniel didn't say anything.to that, because she was right, but yet, he couldn't bring himself to be sorry or anything like that. He knew the feeling all too well, and it was hard to feel guilt. He shrugged it off and brought his hand up to chew on a nail.
Morticia regarded him carefully for a moment, licking her lips in thought. She was sure Nathaniel was more inclined to side with her older brother, seeing as he was one himself. There was probably a lack of remorse for his earlier thoughts, which she guessed had been relevant to siding with her brother. "Should we get something to eat," she inquired, placing a hand on her now churning stomach, "I'm kinda hungry."
Carson brusquely stormed into the library, fixing Morticia with a deadly glare and grabbing his things. Oh, how he wanted to hit her again. He wanted to hit her, then....no. Get out. Carson, you should get out now. He started for the door, furious.
Tormus strided in with an ease he had perfected over the years of his life. He hoped to find some form of intelligence to occupy his mind as he tried to ignore the entirely bland selection of textbooks he was offered within his courses. He glanced around, his oculars grazing over the spines of the books. He found little that seemed to be worth the time it cost. He traced his fingers over the antique spine of an old novel he had read in his seventh year of school. Little did he notice the people, though he had no intention of amusing the likes of anyone here at the moment.
Serafina tried to ignore the guy next to her but he was too damn close to her. She rolled her eyes and gave up "Serious dude your right up on me and your breath smalls like my Aunt Carol demon dog" Serafina said quickly putting a feet between them trying not to see his reaction.
Tormus dropped his hand from the shelf, turning to face the horrendously behaved girl. "Pardon me, I didn't mean to invade your space" he said with all the sickening politeness he could muster in the current moment. He took a few steps away, giving her some distance as his eyes continued their travel over the titles.
Serafina could hear the force politeness in his voice. She argued with herself whether to say sorry or punch him for well she doesn't know why she should punch him. "Look sorry about that I guess that was kinda rude of me" Serafina practically gritted through her teeth but manage a small smile trying to not stare at him.
Tormus gave a small shrug "I assume anyone here against their will would not be in anything of a pleasant mood" he said passively, willing to forgive her miniscule words. It was not as if she had any standing that her words would be offensive on any level so it made it quite simple for him to simply pass it off as nothing.
Serafina finally look at him and stop thinking for a moment man this one mom and dad wouldn't approve of. she was stunned by how he look words wouldn’t describe it or would they well. My cheeks blush from embarrassment from standing there looking like a totally loser. "Let's start over, hi I'm Serafina" I said holding out my hand.
A ghost of a smile danced over his lips. This was more the manners he expected within a meeting of a stranger. He accepted her hand politely. "My name is Tormus, it is a pleasure to make your acquaintance" he said, the polite nature becoming instinct when it was not strained. He could see by her faint blush that she had become embarrassed by some means. As often, he kept his deductions to himself, locking them away within his head.
Blushing some more Serafina was crying inside her head when she had become such a girl. Letting go of his hand like it burned her. She noticed a small smile but it disappeared before she can say it was real. "So Tormus what are you in for" She ask wincing how fast she said everything.
Tormus was not at all fazed by her hasty rush within their conversation. "A bit of everything, I suppose. I tend not to dwell on the past. I think my prosecuting reason was possession of a controlled substance" he answered with lithe comfort despite her thinly veiled attraction. He had to admit she fit the description of one who would be found attractive but he chose to wait on any account of that until he knew her better. "Might I ask what unfortunate event landed you in this establishment?"
"Let see I had gotten arrest for multiply assaults, vandalism, and misuse of fire. Really my mom and dad sent me here so they can never see me again" she said calmly but in inside she was crumbling like paper. Before she can stop it a tear ran down her face she looked down at her shoes trying to hide her tears.
"Perhaps you would prefer to go to a place less occupied?" he asked, seeing how her emotions had begun to take their toll on her. Coming from any other guy, it might sound suspicious but he had a comforting aspect to his voice. He could easily sway the most stable of conformations to his will. He imagined she did not find it a great joy to be on the verge of tears within the public location they stood in.
"Yea, I should go somewhere private and brawl my eyes out then pretend I feel great but really I feel like a Fuck up horse inside and I don’t even know what that means" I screamed in a whisper slowly sliding on the floor. I know I'm making a fool of myself in front of him but its either crying or having to stop myself from kissing him.
Tormus ignored the glances spared in their direction as she became increasingly upset. He assisted in bringing her back to her feet, ensuring she would not become more upset by his help. He led her out, assuming his dorm would do as well as any other location. It was not the bed idea to bring a female to his dorm, considering what an emotional state she was in. He discarded this thought with ease, knowing he had handled worse in his past. ((I shall post a second comment within his dorm topic.))
((okay))
Serafina felt herself being led out but was to upset to do anything about it.
