So, I'm one week into May and I haven't finished one book! *bad Linda* So, Fiona gave me an idea to make a list for what books you should read that month. In order to make my goal of 100 books before next year, I need to read 8.75 books a month from this point forward. Here is my list for May... hopefully I will do okay:

1. I Capture the Castle
2. The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
3. Lover Avenged
4. Anne of Green Gables
5. The Graveyard Book Page 35/312
6. The Girls from Ames A Story of Women and Friendship Page 18/320
7. Eldest Page 9/704
8. Little Women Page 229/592
9. Ink Exchange
10. The Au Pairs

I got 5 books read in May, I will try to finish another one this weekend and then I will post my list for next month, which will include the ones from above that I didn't finish and some others. :)

Abbie (abbiebum) | 205 comments great job! hey, how do you put pictures and stuff on your messages?

message 10: by [deleted user] (new)

Thanks! I don't know if there is another way to do it, but I go to 'my account', then widgets, and I believe it is the second one down. You can sort by order you finished the books, or however you want and it creates a collage. I tend to just do one at a time as I finish them, so I put date I read as the sorting factor, then 1 as the amount of books. Usually it posts with a bunch of extra html, so I just delete that part from my comment until it's just the picture of the book left... :)

Karencilla | 6 comments i wish i could read that fast =(

The audiobooks are helping me a lot lately. I have been having problems with my eyes (I think caused from reading too much), so I haven't been reading any printed books. It's very hard because I love reading. I have my doctor's appointment tomorrow, so hopefully I will be able to get reading glasses and go back to reading printed books. :)

message 18: by [deleted user] (new)

Thank you! I greatly miss curling up in bed with a book. I will let you all know how it goes at the doctor's tomorrow and what the outcome is.

message 20: by Karencilla (new)

Karencilla | 6 comments Linda, i understand. Listening to an audiobook is not the same as reading the book. Hopefully you will be able to see a doctor. You have to take care of your eyes, read with good illumination is the key!. take care.

message 21: by [deleted user] (new)

Well, I'm now nearsighted and have to wear glasses which I will receive in 2 weeks. I asked the doctor if it's okay for me to read and he said, "Of course!" He said it was caused by working in front of a computer all day. I have 20/60 vision without corrective lenses...

message 22: by Barbara (new)

Barbara Vazquez | 12 comments Why don't you try an electronic reader? The e-ink technology is awesome, it doesn't hurt your eyes one bit, and you can increase the size of the fonts to make your reading easier.
I have one, and I love it!

message 23: by [deleted user] (new)

I'm thinking about asking for one for my birthday, but I tend to go to the library more often than buy books. If I switch to Kindle, I have to purchase each book instead of checking them out from the library. I adore the idea though. If only they had a Kindle library...

That stinks, I'm only a little bit farsighted, but that's because it's hereditary.

message 25: by Barbara (new)

Barbara Vazquez | 12 comments Linda Grace, you can download all the classics for free at www.gutenberg.org.
The Kindle is not the only option, I have a Hanlin V3, and it reads almost any text format you can think off, plus html.

message 26: by [deleted user] (new)

I will have to look more into it. :) Thank you for the information.

An easier way to do it is to click on add book/author, search for the book you want, and then at the bottom of the screen click cover instead of link! Much easier!
