RandomAnthony | 14536 comments What do you think of these Tax Day Tea Parties? From what I can tell they're all over the place today.

(By the way, if they use good tea Jackie is either going to show up to drink or kick some ass if they waste it)

Matt | 819 comments I'm not completely read up on this, but my understanding is that these are being advertised as non-partisan but are in fact being organized by the right-wing.

This is what I meant to post over in the Anderson Cooper gayness thread.

message 4: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Oh Sally it is not.

Yes, Tad, I think you are correct. They talk of the horrible deficits of the past few administrations, conveniently forgetting the surplus from the Clinton years.

Sally (mrsnolte) | 17346 comments Mod
Yes it is! Same thing! Tax day tax strikes by the GOP!

message 6: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) The same as teabagging?

message 7: by Sally, la reina (new)

Sally (mrsnolte) | 17346 comments Mod
Well, not that kind of teabagging, but yes.

message 8: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Well okay then. My apologies, dear lady.

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8993 comments These tea parties are ridiculous. Obama passed a tax CUT for most Americans. Did we not want that?

As for the tea, you KNOW they're not making that tea correctly. I doubt they have properly boiling water, let alone preheat the teapot.
And I bet they put creamer in it.

:::shudder:::

Is Boston having a tea party?

message 11: by Sarah (new)

Sarah (songgirl7) Are they going to dress up like this?

message 12: by Matt (new)

Matt | 819 comments This may be what Sally was referring to earlier, but i've noticed on digg and reddit many of the users are referring to these people as teabaggers.

I find this very amusing...

message 13: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 13815 comments Rachel Maddow was cracking up about that the other night... it's hilarious. The right comes up with a demonstration, organizes it, and then accidentally names it after a sex act.

message 14: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) It's a laugh riot.

message 15: by Sarah (new)

Sarah (songgirl7) Just to clarify: "teabagging" is not what the right named their demonstration.

message 16: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 13815 comments No, but a lot of commentators have used that as the shorthand.

message 17: by Vanessa (new)

Vanessa (buckythecat) That's really funny.

Sally (mrsnolte) | 17346 comments Mod
That's what I meant!

message 19: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Sheesh they're dense, aren't they Sally?

message 20: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 13815 comments I saw you say it already, Sally. It's funny every time, as far as I'm concerned. :)

Thank you for the validation, guys.

message 22: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) We validate parking, too.

message 23: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 13815 comments Sally, you're looking kind of blue...

message 24: by Sally, la reina (new)

Sally (mrsnolte) | 17346 comments Mod
It's to offset your vivid greenery, my dear.

message 25: by RandomAnthony (new)

RandomAnthony | 14536 comments Sally sounded like the wolf in "Little Red Riding Hood" when she said that.

message 26: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 13815 comments [image error]
I'm frightened.

message 27: by Sally, la reina (new)

Sally (mrsnolte) | 17346 comments Mod
That is beautiful!

message 28: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 13815 comments I looooove Fables. And the big bad wolf isn't so bad when you get to know him.

Way to bring us back on topic, mighty moderator man.

I saw some Tea Party demonstrations downtown today and I thought of y'all.

message 31: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) What else did you think of?

message 32: by Sally, la reina (new)

Sally (mrsnolte) | 17346 comments Mod
Their dippy homemade signs looked too floppy for the windy day.

message 33: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) That fits in with their ideas.

message 34: by RandomAnthony (new)

RandomAnthony | 14536 comments Heh. Fox news is struggling with getting a sense of humor here...

message 35: by RandomAnthony (new)

RandomAnthony | 14536 comments I just realized there was another thread on teabagging. How did I miss that?

That's ok, teabagging is worth two threads.

Félix (habitseven) Randomanthony wrote: "That's ok, teabagging is worth two threads."
