I've been looking forward to "Red Moon" by Benjamin Percy for several weeks. Today was the release date and since I'd preordered it from Barnes & Noble it was downloaded to my Nook tablet this morning. In the meantime I'm finishing up Greg Bear's "Hull Zero Three" for the next meeting of our SF2 book club at McKinley.
David Sedaris' new title "Let's Explore Diabetes With Owls" (yes, it's a *hoot* - yuck yuck)"What if the Earth Had Two Moons" by Neil F. Comins
H. P . Lovecraft's "The Watchers Out Of Time"
"Haunted" by Chuck Palahniuk...
And I suddenly realize these are all short stories or essays. Not a longer work to be seen.
Ready Player One by Ernest Cline. It has a lot of problems from a nitpicky, editor perspective, but I can't put this book down. It's the most enjoyable book I've read in years, from a storytelling standpoint.
I have been looking back into The Lovely Bones (mostly for my high school students) and exploring the book. As I have more time, I would like to look into World War Z because this is one of the movies I'm looking forward to this summer!
I am reading Undercurrent & just finished Parallel . These are both with alt universe and so far okay.
Just finished The House Girl by Tara Conlin. Could not put it down. The premise, a young attorney researching a reparations case for descendants of slaves, juxtaposed with the story of a young slave, Josephine, who happens to be an artist. Harsh and beautiful story.
Chelsea wrote: "I'm really enjoying "Texas Gothic" by Rosemary Clement-Moore. A teen paranormal mystery with lots of humor, and I'm not usually a fan of the paranormal, but this family is a hoot!"
Okay, you just sold me on Texas Gothic. It's going on my TBR list right now :-)

I am reading Three Graves Full, a debut mystery from Jamie Mason. It starts when two bodies are dug up from Jason Getty's front yard. The shocking thing is that neither of them is the body HE buried. I am reading with my eyes wide open in horror as things get worse and worse for the various characters connected to the crimes. It's half Carl Hiaasen, half Quentin Tarantino. Lots of fun!
Just finished Another Little Piece ...lets just say it was twisty good :) Haven't had a book like that in a while. Going to read Faking it . I need an adult book now
On my list right now:
-Miles, Mystery & Mayhem by Lois McMaster Bujold. This is part of the Vorkosigan Saga, and so far, this omnibus is my favorite.
-Finnikin of the Rock by Melina Marchetta. It's a YA fantasy that came highly recommended, but while I love the world, I'm not really loving the characters.
-I just finished volume one of the comic American Vampire by Scott Snyder, Stephen King, and Rafael Albuqurque. One of the best horror comics I've ever read, though honestly, I could have done with less Stephen King. Yesterday, I started Saga by Brian K. Vaughan and Fiona Staples; it's more than a little weird, but I'm already liking it.
