Dava (davagirl) | 2 comments This channel is the best! No more court scenes. This channel is mainly true crime all the time. Shows that go into detail about the crimes and how they were solved. The best part is that they are usually only 30 minutes. So you can hop on your elliptical machine or treadmill and workout while watching what we love!

Pam | 1 comments I agree. I was totally confused by all of the "Court TV will soon be TruTV" ads in December, but now see what it's all about (duh) and it's awesome. I'm hooked.

Cindy (wanna_read_all_the_books) I'm loving the new format as well. And I found out the other day that my boss is huge true crime fan as well and he's hooked on TruTv too.

Laura (laurahogan) | 20 comments I like it too. Although I could do without "Most Shocking," which I've dubbed, very cleverly, "Least Shocking."

Personally, I'd be pretty happy if they just started a "Cops" channel. Yes, I am embarrassed.

Michael Berish (michaelberish) | 2 comments Laura,

If you want to read about cop stories , or at least, the unconventional ones which you will NEVER see on tv, go to my blog here or else my website. I have sever stories posted on both.

Cindy (wanna_read_all_the_books) Laura, don't be embarrassed, I love COPS too. My mom and I used to watch it together when I was a kid. Which I suppose might make my mom a little weird but I'm okay with that. :)

Laura (laurahogan) | 20 comments Nah, she was probably just trying to instill respect for law enforcement. Or maybe just love of true crime.

message 8: by Cindy (new)

Cindy (wanna_read_all_the_books) It was definitely a love a true crime. We've been swapping true crime books back and forth since I was about 11. First she shared her love of reading anything and everything, then she shared her fascination with true crime. My mom is the best. lol

Clare | 18 comments You know, it amazes me as a fully law-abiding citizen how I can be so transfixed by all these crime books and shows. It is so fascinating to try and understand the psyche of a criminal. What is sad to watch is those people who are drinking and fighting and you see 3 or 4 little kids standing there scared to pieces. It makes me wanna cry...

Kim (kimbers81) I agree with all of you. It was a good channel beore but now its even better. I watch those shows and you gotta wonder what makes people think they can get away with the things they do?

Michael Berish (michaelberish) | 2 comments Not only do they get away with these crimes, a lot of them never get any real type of sentence because the courts and jails are overcrowded.

I know of one guy who comitted a crime (forgot what now) and he was in and ourt of jail on bond, awaiting trial, and finally he was convicted and sent to jail on a prison bus, and by the time he arrived, they had to turn him lose and drive him back home because he had already built up gain time and served his sentence out.

If you are really interested in usually, not your average crime book, you might give my book a try; it's all about the dark side of police work.

You can go to my website at: www.realmiamivice.com and read about it. At the bottom of the HOME PAGE are three, free stories.

Laura (laurahogan) | 20 comments I can certainly understand being bored to tears by all those "Most Shocking" shows, which I said somewhere below I call "Least Shocking." First of all, they're basically the same clip over and over -- a guy speeds away from police. BFD. Same goes for those stupid Party Beach shows -- a guy/girl gets drunk and has to be escorted off the beach. Repeat ad nauseam. Yawn.

However, they do still show The Investigators pretty frequently -- the other day, they had a marathon. Same with Suburban Secrets. Til Death Do Us Part is really gone, but in my opinion, it jumped the shark around the second episode. I also happened to hate Dayle Hinman, Phony Profiler (yeah, right -- profiling. Some real science going on there), and boy am I glad they got rid of that loathesome Psychic Detectives.

I don't know if your cable company carries it, but Discovery Times just changed its name to Investigation Discovery and it's basically the same format as TruTV, only without the stupid "Most Shocking" and Party Beach shows. They show a lot of FBI Files, and they have one show, forget the name, that's basically the same thing as The Investigators. So I switch over to that channel a lot.

Alie | 37 comments Am I the only one who has seen all of those FBI Files, D. Dunne,Investigators? Half the time the things on trutv I've already seen. Then they replay the same things over and over, on the same night even.

I'm with the lady re: cops. I just discovered it and man oh man are people idiots.
