woman's wounds licked until healed? Medieval tale

Anyone an expert on Medieval myth?...I heard about this Medieval tale where the final story has a giant cat/wolf/? lick the wounds of a woman until her entire body was healed. It is kind of like Ovid's Metamorphosis scenes, where animal and human encounter, and some crazy bad-ass magic happens...???
Anyone know anything about collections of Medieval tales.
