Félix (habitseven) I really like to read just about anything Dick Cavett writes. This is no exception. Makes me want to share, too. So that's what I'm doing here.

There's a second installment of this piece here:

Here's a link to one of the shows mentioned in the articles:

Jessica (jesstrea) I remember in 7th grade we had to choose a famous living person to do a biography of...I chose Barbra Streisand; my girlfriend chose Cavett. I knew right away hers was the more interesting choice...

message 4: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Oh yes.

Félix (habitseven) Where do you stand?

message 9: by Leshawn (new)

Leshawn | 109 comments I loved Dick Cavett's book "Cavett" that he wrote with Christopher Porterfield. I love watching his interviews. I plan to read "Eye on Cavett" soon. I bought a copy a few years ago.

RandomAnthony | 14536 comments I am too young to remember much about Dick Cavett.

(I rarely get to say I'm too young for anything, so I'm taking advantage of the opportunity.)

message 13: by Jessica (new)

Jessica (jesstrea) poor RA! such a youngster! you missed out!

message 14: by Leshawn (last edited Apr 11, 2009 06:32PM) (new)

Leshawn | 109 comments I love when I discover things that "I'm too young to know about!".
The Collections of the Dick Cavett Show, "Comic Legends" and "Hollywood Greats" have yielded some of the best interviews I've ever seen; Katharine Hepburn, Woody Allen, Groucho Marx, Bette Davis, Carol Burnett. He asked such intelligent, interesting questions. I always learn something new about the person he interviewed!
And I am a fan of his sense of humor!

message 15: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) You can still read what he writes, though.

message 16: by Jessica (new)

Jessica (jesstrea) he really does have a great sense of humor
