Vee (SummerVilla) | 1 comments I never heard of it before today, but a friend wanted to see it, and I tagged along. Only thing I got from watching this movie was a headache
(Blair Witch Project camcorder-motion type headache)...Also questions like What and How will not be answered! Waste of time and money, I do not recommend this movie at all!

Nicole (nlojeda) | 42 comments I kept waiting for the camera to be put down. I agree it was annoying. I still enjoyed the movie though. It needed more monster action!

bsc (bsc0) I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was good change from your typical Hollywood blockbuster.

Tasha (tasha_lane) I actually liked the it. It's not your typical monster movie.

Christopher Jones (konajoe62) | 16 comments I went to see "Cloverfield" yesterday, I had this burning need to write a quick review of the movie. Please do not get upset, this is just my opinion and is not intended to offend anyone who happened to like this film.

I, being the horror movie enthusiast that I am, went to see the most
anticipated movie "Cloverfield". If you wanted to see this
movie...STOP, if you thought you might enjoy it...STOP, if for any
reason you think you might even think of going to see this movie...for
the love of God...STOP!!!

I was amazingly disappointed with this film. First, if you did not
already hear this, the entire movie is shot through a hand held video
camera. The camera is never still for more than 30 seconds through
the entire movie. If you happen to be prone to migraines or headaches
of any kind and you enjoy them...this film will be your friend,
otherwise just don't do this to yourself.

This film seems to have no real beginning...at least not one that
anyone could possibly care about, it has no real storyline to it and,
although it does have an end...THANK GOD...it sucked and did not come
fast enough for me or most of the audience that I saw the film with.
Most of the characters in the movie you really just cannot wait for
them to kick it so they stop their incessant whining and screaming.
Just...well...nails on a chalkboard. As the credits came up on the
screen I said out loud..."you have got to be kidding me".

The frustrating part of the film is that the basic idea was very
good. The "monster" was awesome and the special effects were
great...that is what you could see of them. With the hand held camera
thing happening you only caught brief glimpses of anything or anyone.
As I said I was sorely disappointed in this film, I expected so much
more from J.J. Abrams who I think is a great director/creator. He
lost a lot of good guy points with me for this film.

I will not go into the story...such as it is...just in case some one
out there actually wants to go and see the movie but, since you are
all friends reading this and I care about you all, take my advice
and if you feel the need for some horrible form of torture...at least
wait for it to come out on DVD.

bsc (bsc0) It sounds like you wanted your standard monster movie. That was exactly what they set out NOT to make. You missed the whole point.

Christopher Jones (konajoe62) | 16 comments Well instead of the point all I got was $8.50 less in my wallet and a major headache. You're right...this was not a standard monster movie and maybe I was looking for that but I also like to have a beginning and an end to a movie...this had neither.

Bottom line...I respect the fact that you liked it and as I stated in my original post I did not intend to offend anyone. My opinion is just that, mine, not right or wrong, just mine.
