Dodd | 127 comments Does anybody here remember why I reserved this at the library several weeks ago? It's here now and I don't remember the occasion of my impulsive or drunken request to the Consolidated Metropolitan Library gods. It might have been a thread on RB. Anybody?

Anybody read it?

Muzzlehatch | 168 comments Have not read it; Ford was a guest on Fresh Air in 2006 when the 2nd sequel "The Sportswriter", "The Lay of the Land" came out, and that program was repeated some time in the past couple of months. Maybe you heard that?

Haven't read any Ford, not the kind of writer I typically gravitate towards, but he was an excellent interviewee and that piques my interest a little.

Dodd | 127 comments Good call. I'll bet that's what it was.

It's in my hands now and I'll report back when I've have had a chance to read it.

Dodd | 127 comments Updike does this better. I actually like the writing, like the character, like the character's take on the world. But I keep thinking that I would rather spend my reading time working on the stack of the Atlantic back issues.

This one might not hold me all the way through.
