I found Rob's view of God refreshing and encouraging. Rather than placing God into the traditional parameters of evangelical faith Rob challenges us to think about different possible ways of understanding and talking about God. I also really appreciated the way that he was able to balance God's transcendence and immanence.

I would say I'm uncomfortable calling it "Rob's view of God" as I've read multiple earlier works that espouse similar theology: Brother Lawrence's "Practicing the Presence of God", Dietrich Bonhoeffer, the many speeches and letters of MLK, and the letters of the Apostle Paul to name a few :)
Rob's words in the chapter called "For" ring especially true to me. For a man who has been painted as a pop-theologian by many, his expressed views are quite orthodox.
