L Hi, I am Lucinda.

Since childhood i have been drawn to all things fantasy and have loved writing anything and everything; visualizing myself in the place of Jo March (Little Women) who made writing her profession.

As well as writing many short stories of science-fiction and fantasy genre (as listed on my Profile page under "My Writing), i am also currently working on my first novel. I have plans for a series of epic fantasy genre, which is something that i am passionate about and love.

Please do take a look at some of the stories i have posted on Goodreads, (for practise) as any constructive critisism and feedback is much apreciated. Also i would love to discuss novel writing, traditional publishing and the adult fantasy genre with authors/ readers, as being that this is my first work i am new to the process of becoming an author.

Hey everyone! i'm Dalu

I've always loved writing for fun but i never consider myself as a fantasy author, i never had that much imagination for that i guess.
i'm working on this.. you can call it a "urban YA", which has a little personal experience and you can find it relatable as it is a non fiction story. I just transfered the draft of the first chapter to my computer so maybe i'll post it soon and you can give me your reviews :D

Cynthia Stacey (cynthia_stacey) | 40 comments Hi my name is Cynthia I am a young adult writer of fantasy. I currently have one book published called The Witch Guardian. I have finished my second novel which is tentatively called "Mind over Matter" which is also fantasy. The main character has empathic powers and ends up in a mental rehab facility. I am also working on a paranormal novel called Souls of the Chimera about a young girl who's twin sister died before birth but her soul/ghost has remained with her. I love all things sci fi and would love to write a sci fi novel but it is only in the planning stages at this point. It is hard to come up with something different.

Aria Williams (arialwilliamshotmailcomau) | 1 comments Hi my name is aria and I have written two novels which are set to be published in the coming months. They are titled banished from grace and heavenly hell. Both of these books are about female angels who have fallen from heaven due to falling in love.

message 10: by Larisa (new)

Larisa Walk Hi, everyone. I'm Larisa Walk and fantasy is my preferred genre. Since I'm Russian by birth and upbringing, I often use Russian history and mythology in my stories. Currently I have a historical fantasy novel, A Handful of Earth, and a paranormal fantasy novel, A Witch Without Magic, out on Amazon. A Handful of Earth takes place in the 13th century Russia during the Mongol invasion. A Witch Without Magic takes place in modern day fictitious town in California that loosely resembles the town where I live now.

Randy Attwood (randyatwood) | 5 comments I'm an author in Kansas City with title all over the genre map, some of them science fiction. I discovered Philip K. Dick in high school and one of my works is a kind of homage to him. I've also done a dystopia set in 2084. A novella explores Mormonism in a sci-fi sorta way. I hope I might talk more about these works in the proper area. It's really great to see a group for promoting one's works is its purpose. Look forward to meeting more folks in the group. My WIP is also a science fiction work set in the near future in which I'm having great fun playing around with the notice of time stopping.

message 24: by Tracey (new)

Tracey Alley (traceya) | 6 comments Hi all,
First thanks for the invite. I'm an Australian Indie author. I currently have a series of fantasy novels called The Witchcraft Wars. They're adult but also YA appropriate. I also have a compilation of short stories of background tales using various characters from The Witchcraft Wars series as well as a couple of free standing short stories and an anthology of poetry.

My fantasy novels, in order, are -
Erich's Plea (The Witchcraft Wars, #1) by Tracey Alley Ursula's Quest (The Witchcraft Wars #2) by Tracey Alley Ursula's Quest (The Witchcraft Wars #2) by Tracey Alley
They're all available in eBook and paperback.

My stand alone shorts [which are included in the anthology] are -
A Very Hairy Adventure (Kaynos History Tales) by Tracey Alley An Unholy Encounter (Kaynos History Tales) by Tracey Alley And the anthology - The Kaynos History Tales (Vol 1) by Tracey Alley
These are only available as eBooks.

I'm currently doing a genre switch and working on a stand alone mystery/thriller called The Jenny Factor which I'm hoping will be released soon although this project has taken far longer than expected. After that I have a quintella of Urban Paranormal novels and then it's back to Kaynos [the mythical world of The Witchcraft Wars] for a series tentatively titled The Raider's Saga.

I've been writing and telling stories for as long as I can remember. I feel as though I was incredibly blessed to have had a truly wonderful and magical childhood. My Mum regularly made up fabulous stories about elves and fairies and dragons and magicians, many of whom lived in the gardens of our back yard.

My husband, Robbie and I live in South East Queensland with our dog and two kittens. He is an enormous help to me as he is one of my greatest supporters but also my harshest critic - I believe that balance helps me to continue to improve at my craft. I love reading, horse riding, walking, swimming and practice yoga or tai chi to relax.

I'm looking forward to meeting all of you and getting to know you better.
Cheers,
Trace

Just recently published Godhead and as part of that have started using goodreads to do more than just check into books as I'm reading them (which kind of got forgotten about with all the writing anyway.)

If anyone's interested in a read, it's also free on Kindle on April 5th.

I will be releasing the first book in a Dark Fantasy (with undertones of sci-fi)series this summer. The series is called The Creators of Aerhellion, and book 1 is titled The Well of Cha'kura.

So far I only have a facebook page. I'm looking to grow my fan base, and get some reviews going when everything is finalized and ready for the e-universe.

My facebook fan page: https://www.facebook.com/TheCreatorsO...

Thanks everyone!

message 35: by Denise (new)

Denise (eendenise) Hi my name is Denise and I'm not an author didn't publish a book, and actually have dyslexia.

I do write but in Dutch (since I'm from the Netherlands lol) and I don't start writing out of the blue... I'm more like a challange-joining-writer HAHA.

I'm 17 and you can call me Denise or Tomato and I will listen to both (: (oh and I'm a fan of this Irish band named The Script for a very short time - around or over 5 years or something like that... and not weird at all...)

Ross Young (rossyoung) | 2 comments Hello folks,

I released Dead Heads in the new year and the sequel is coming soon, it's free on smashwords but amazon haven't caught up yet. A fantasy based in the afterlife, no angels or demons here though. Would happily have your thoughts on it and any useful tips anyone has on promotion and marketing would be gratefully received!

Oh I'm a Northern English guy currently living in Cairo! More about the book and my experience of indie publishing here www.gloomwood.tk

Here's the links to my books: Protector (Anniversary of the Veil, #1) by Vanna Smythe and Decision Maker (Anniversary of the Veil, Book 2) by Vanna Smythe

Taylor Green (greenskydragon) | 1 comments Hey,
My name is Michael, and I'm a fantasy writer here on Goodreads. Kira's Story http://www.goodreads.com/story/show/3... is my main story right now, and although it's currently incomplete I'm coming down the metaphorical homestretch on it. The story is epic fantasy, a nice mix of alternate dimensions and alternate histories that take place both on worlds far away, and right here on Earth. I'm just trying to get the story's existence out there, so any help greatly appreciated! In pursuit of the truth.

message 44: by Tammy (new)

Tammy Spahn (vellidragon) | 3 comments Hallo there,

I'm Tammy Spahn (sometimes known around the net as Vellidragon), an indie Fantasy author from Frisia (don't worry, I still write in English) who you have probably never heard of. I wrote the book Ssalia and the Dragons of Avienot, published a couple months ago, and am currently (slowly but steadily) working on more books set in its universe. My writing is mainly inspired by children's Fantasy books, so it tends to be light and escapist, though not aimed exclusively at younger audiences. I also enjoy language studies and venture into non-literature arts, like drawing, digital painting, composing and eventually (hopefully) game design.

I have a little website on my Fantasy setting here: http://pelsatia.lanschilandia.com
And a general-purpose, but largely writing- or Fantasy-related Blog here: http://hicsuntdracaenae.blogspot.com

Cheers!

Andrea Cooper (andrearcooper) | 8 comments Hi I'm Andrea and a debut author. I have always been drawn to paranormal/fantasy/magic but wasn't allowed to read or watch any of it growing up (seriously, not even Disney). Anyway, all that did was make those worlds more fascinating. And of course I read what I could hide ;)

My debut fantasy/pnr is The Garnet Dagger. Everyone knows what happens when a vampire bites a human...but what if the victim is Elvin?

I'm hosting a give-away for a free eBook of The Garnet Dagger. Details and entry form on my webpage: www.andreaRcooper.com

I'm giving away two copies of the paperback on Goodreads at the moment.

"Weird Western" / Fantasy. The legendary gunslingers of late author Ed Brigham's fantasy novels were supposed to be the stuff of fiction, but when his son Ross and two of Ed's fans stumble into the desolate parallel world of Destin, they discover a war for the very soul of the universe, waged by the immortal muses that once pledged to enrich it -- and a strange secret that might bring America itself into the mystery.
