I think the biggest thing society needs to change is the focus on beauty and looks. None of those things really matter in the end, do they?

message 2: by Logan (new)

Logan | 15 comments that's true, but i'm not sure what really needs to change in society. Will it ever change?

only if we make it change. we are the generation that gets to fix everything that the previous generation messed up.

message 4: by Logan (new)

Logan | 15 comments that's too bad. Nowadays american's are getting too lazy to care about it. They sluf school, don't care about grades, and what do they do to help? Nothing. I will admit, though, there are many people that do care, but there's tons that don't

message 5: by Logan (new)

Logan | 15 comments Our generation, we have to try harder

dang. we need more people. it's hard to have a discussion with only two voices.

with that i join into the conversation...i totally agree with the whole "this generation is careless" thing because i see it everyday in my school. People need to realize that we are the future and that we will have to fix the problems that generations before us have created. That said why don't we start changing the world now? Get involved with whatever we can to make our world, which it is ALL our world, then we should probably start taking action now not just be what the older people call us....the "lazy" generation.

Yes! Completely. People need to FOCUS, take things seriously, otherwise our nation will be hopeless. Us, our generation, we are the kids to make the future right. We need to make the right decisions with our lives.

message 9: by Logan (new)

Logan | 15 comments ......we're not and that is what is sending our nation to hell.

I think one of the best ways to get a point across is to:
A.) Write a letter to a congressman
B.) Start a real angry band.

message 11: by Logan (new)

Logan | 15 comments But will that work?

Which one?

It could. "All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them." --Walt Disney

message 15: by Evan (new)

Evan Waechtler | 5 comments but what if are dreams are then shattered? will we lose enthusiasm to try to reach those goals again or tyr for higher heights? can we really live on dreams alone with action? sometimes we can't live out dreams because society just simply doesn't want that to happen. if society isn't happy they don't want anyone to happy.

Screw society. Society is overrated. Socialism is total bull. I say, no one gives you power, you just take it. Just reach up and pluck it from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. Eat it and converse with the serpent, then tell me what you learned.

message 17: by Logan (new)

Logan | 15 comments i learn nothing for the tree of knowledge is not knowledge at all but choice. it gave us choice so go ahead and eat the fruit but you'll learn nothing except for things you already know.

message 18: by Jj (new)

Jj | 3 comments Hm... Society is too focused on things that aren't important. We need to stop worrying what society thinks and start living our life the way we want it to be without freaking out about society.

If you really want to make a difference than you got to get away from the computer and ACTUALLY do something about it (im not directing this at you guys but I'm talking about every body who wants to make a difference including me). We have very limited power at our age but there is probably something we can do.

Yeah, something we can do without managing to get ourselves on the Homeland Security watchlist.

message 20: by Evan (new)

Evan Waechtler | 5 comments let's think of something. we want to change society, do we not? than let's act. we need to fix everything that is currently out-of-place. there is a lack of order, and it is just chaos. we, as being the next generation, need to change it. but we need to think of a way.

message 21: by Evan (new)

Evan Waechtler | 5 comments This was really Logan, not evan. Evan never signed out, and i failed to notice.

message 22: by Logan (new)

Logan | 15 comments that previous comment that said it was from me, was most likely really posted by my brother, we always forget to sign out.

message 23: by Wendal (new)

Wendal Kane (wendalkane23) | 1 comments TO change society, you have to take action. But the biggest things that need to be changed are social norms, they ruin everything for anyone who doesn't look/act "normal".

A reform of the institutions of government and education is the most essential. The State must assume a rational form, and we must expand the development of 1) the rights of man; 2) the science of political economy.

Modern politics is almost anti-ideological; the cult of the Zero. I prefer a Nazi to a man who refuses to reject Nazism out of 'moderation'.

David Zumas (DavidDomon) I believe the biggest change society currently needs is to break from the apathy blanketed over their fellow human, through the disconnection our market system creates. Then the realization that changing a system as corrupt as the one we now live in is not going to be easy or safe. Unless we are willing to sacrifice, we will continue talking about all that is wrong, while the powers that be do as they please.

David Zumas (DavidDomon) A Feeling for which to Forever Reach

Where the mind bears the realization of the effect of its own selfish desires, a light within the intension to cause only good, begins to manifest. Physically it is felt running through the body, arching at toes and finger tips, fluxing over the curvature of the eye, jumping upon the surface of the skin. As the feeling of that desire to show love and no more, wells up from within. A calm coherence of gentle emotion pours over the mind, entering a place inside that believes in no end. This knowing of awareness, which only faith in love and truth can cause to arise, is the only true worth in the existence that is or will ever be. Once in it, I am sorry for every selfish thought, that I was too weak to keep enclosed. From which actions, not forged in the emotion of this light, have furthered the darkness through which each of us suffers. As only when interacting from within the purity of love, does the world truly know life.

I need book reviews, preferably before the violence over the issues that plague our world begins. Contact me and I will email you it for free. Though know that it is not for the light of heart.
