Wi-fi question

Hello I am new to this group, I have a WIFI question, I always turn my wifi off to save battery, I only connect when I need a new book. Will this effect other from seeing my lend me books? Is there anyway I can find out if some wants a book if I am not connected maybe email or something?

Lend me books are kept in a list on the Barnes & Noble website, so people can see them whether you are online or not. No worries. Also, you should receive an email every time someone wants to borrow a book, in addition to the icon on your Nook.
