Charlotte | 3 comments I am new to the group.I have a question that I would love for someone to answer for me. Why are all the reader books that are given away free are on kindle and nook? I have a Apple ipad and read books on it, but no one seems to offer free reader books on them.
Thank you,
Charlotte

You can download to any e-reader from smashwords.

Charlotte get the kindle app free from the App Store, it will enable you to download any books from Amazon, bought or free.

There might be a similar app for Nook books.

For EPUB format books, you need to install two programs, Overdrive and Adobe Digital Editions, if you are in UK, your local library can advise you how to get these through the library system (it also means you will be able to get eBooks from your local library).

Hope this helps.

Charlotte: for me, it's because I haven't yet gone through the effort of making my book into an ibook... I plan to, just haven't had the time. The reason you see a lot of "kindle only" giveaways is because in order to do Kindle "free" days, KDP mandates that your e-book is ONLY available on their site (in 90 day renewable increments). I don't intend to keep my book in KDP-Select, but since I haven't gotten around to putting it elsewhere yet, I figured I'd take advantage of their program and use the free days.

I don't own an e-reading device myself... so I've been a little lazy about getting the e-version into multiple formats...

I have two books that will be free for kindle this weekend. The first is a YA contemporary/poetry that has been a bestseller both this year and last, and the second is a contemporary/romance adult short (clean). This is the last time both will be free on amazon.

Enjoy!
