Tim | 44 comments My first novel set in the Kingsmen universe of 23rd century England, currently undergoing the final edits for an April release to ebook, and subsequently to paperback.

In a 23rd Century Britain where oil and electricity are just a distant memory, the Kingsmen rule with a rod of iron and exact the severest penalties for the smallest crimes. Sixteen year old Flick Carter has saved the life of an injured Scav. But it’s not just the Kingsmen who want to get their hands on the boy and his illicit tech; there are forces far more dangerous who will stop at nothing, not even murder.

Wanted for a murder she did not commit, Flick is forced to flee. In a town of just 150 people, there’s nowhere to hide. So you run. Or you die.

Survivors meets Robin Hood.

The first chapter is available to read on my web site, along with a related short story, Socko's first Day.

Tim | 44 comments Kobo and Nook too :)

Supplemental blurb:
It's set in a Post-Post Apocalyptic time, when the events of The Collapse are but a distant memory. Civilisation has regrouped and a new order established itself. The information age has long gone, and the clouds of data that drove it are no more than ash, the knowledge once locked into those ancient servers now forgotten. The tiny population gets by as best it can, improvising and living off the land, or scavenging through long-derelict cities for scraps of metal, tools or trinkets that can be used for barter. But a few pockets of ancient technology remain, along with people who can make them work, and there are some who will go to any extreme to get hold of those secrets...

Tim | 44 comments Another awesome ★★★★★ review for Wanted :-D

"I was captivated from the outset by this post-apocalyptic tale set in the village of Faringdon.
I found the plot original and the strength displayed by the female characters memorable.
During the time I was reading I was transported into the Inn, the watchtower and the dungeon such was the atmospheric descriptions drawn by this talented author. I felt the hard, damp, cold floor and smelled the odours. I could imagine the streets and carriages and even the clothing of the cast.
This for me was storytelling at it’s very best, my imagination was challenged, senses stimulated and by the end of the book the characters felt like friends. I hope I meet them again soon!"

Tim | 44 comments In celebration of the month of August, the awesome new ebook cover (see below), and another wonderful ★★★★★ review (also below), WANTED is reduced to £1.99 / $2.99 for the whole month of August. :)

"Set in a future where technology, and even electricity, are forgotten luxuries of an old past, where people are surrounded by skeletons of the long-dead Information Age, Wanted is set in what might be described as a reborn civilisation where skill and ingenuity are needed to thrive.
"What's not new in this future, are politics and corruption. Tim has drawn them superbly; and to counter the bad is an expertly created good. The people of Faringdon get by well enough, they have their Watch to protect them at the city gates, but not all evil exists outside them.
"This is a wonderfully written story featuring characters like Flick who you take to immediately, and others like Dixon who you might approach with some caution. And then there's the Mayor - a man you wouldn't approach at all!
"I loved this world, and I wouldn't mind living in it. With that in mind, I wait eagerly for the second of Tim's books." (Andy Barrett)

Tim | 44 comments Got another wonderful 4* review here on Goodreads:

To me, the best part of this book was definitely the world-building, into which Tim has put a lot of thought and detail, and which was very engaging to explore. I'm looking forward to discovering more about it in the next in the series. The setting of a real, future, Oxfordshire, is also great, letting the imagination run riot by superimposing this bleak future onto a well-known landscape, rather than setting it on an entirely fictional Earth, or other world.

Tim | 44 comments "Normally I would say I was hooked from the first chapter but in this case I was hooked from the first paragraph! I am honestly lost for words here. I have read quite a few post-apocalyptic books lately but this was very different and I loved it! ★★★★★"

"I can't believe I finished this in one day. I was so absorbed into the book that time just literally passed before my eyes.
Wanted by Tim Arnot is in my opinion a different type YA dsytopian, post-apocalytic genre. First off the story is set on the small village of Faringdon in a time where electricity is evil and as such people in this time are going back to farming basically starting from the basics. ★★★★"

Today is the last chance to get WANTED at the discount price of £1.99 / $2.99 - from 1st September (tomorrow) it'll be back at its regular price, so don't wait!

150 years ago, the world ended. The clouds of data that once drove humanity are gone, lost in the mists of time. But life must go on, right? And for sixteen year old Felicity - Flick - Carter, that means living off the land, hunting and scavenging by day, and helping out in dad's inn by night.

Until she met Shea, the boy that crashed a flying machine right in her back yard. And now evil men want the secret of that machine, and more. Men who will stop at nothing to get it, not even murder.

For Flick, her small town is no longer safe. Wanted for murder, and with no one left she can trust, she must run. Or die.
