Jojobean | 675 comments hi. I can't wait for this to start.
does anyone wanna be team leader?
I'll do it if no one else wants to :)

message 6: by Megan (new)

Gisbelle | 27299 comments Dear All

Please make sure you check Now Showing... to get the general ideas how the challenge is going to be like.

Don't forget to choose your team leader. I hope each team will have a team leader by Wednesday.

You may need to PM your teammates who haven't posted in the team yet.

message 17: by Megan (new)

Megan Brooker | 490 comments @ Sofia I went through my books and I picked these two, if all the information is right these two should both be worth ten, Flygirl by Sherri L. Smith and Leviathan by Scott Westerfeld, hope I helped.

message 18: by Jojobean (new)

Jojobean | 675 comments wow this is really hard. I can't find any books

message 19: by Jojobean (last edited Apr 02, 2013 09:35AM) (new)

Jojobean | 675 comments Found one

Going Too Far by Jennifer Echols

Character Name: John, 5 points
Setting: Published in 2009, 6 pts
Hidden Words: Cliff, Balloon, Photo, and Bird 1pt each
Total: 15 so far

message 20: by Jojobean (new)

Jojobean | 675 comments Also here are the extra points we can get if we read the books in a certain amount of days:

Day 1 or 2 = 3pt
Day 3 or 4 = 2pt
Day 5 or 6 = 1pt
Day 7 = no extra point

So we should try for 1-2 days if we can

message 39: by Megan (last edited Apr 07, 2013 05:33PM) (new)

Megan Brooker | 490 comments Final Count of Points: Going Bovine

Genre: comedy 1 point
Plot: road trip 3 points
Setting: published in 2009 6 points
Bonus Words: The flyer shows two very bad school photos of Gonzo and me under the word MISSING.

I feel like a balloon slowly seetling back to earth, slightly deflated but kind of glad the trip is over.

The mailbox is knocked completely clean of it's post.

Around the side of the house is a wooden fence.

Everywhere I look there are wind turbines whirling against the clean blue of the sky like alien birds ready for takeoff, or takeover, whichever comes first.
5 points

Total Points: 15 points

My Review: When I first started this book it was easily five star material, Cameron was funny and relatable, the writing flowed and made sense to me. Then during the next half of the book it was hit and miss, some parts I was totally engrossed by but others were very lackluster and I can't remember now ten minutes after finishing the book. The last 25% of the book lost me entirely though. Nothing was happening for any reason, it got boring and just seemed like the author had a quota of words to fulfill. Overall it had potential but was way too long resulting in my three star rating.
