David Fears Bludis is a prolific writer who claims his best books are his PI books. I've read dozens, if not hundreds, of mystery & PI books and was fascinated by Bludis' ability to paint a scene using very few modifiers. I noted 30 or more slight typos or print errors, which Storm Publishing missed. Not to worry, the tale itself and the self-effacing PI had great pacing and character. Though using LA for a PI tale is almost cliche, this novel, set just after WWII, gives real spice and reality to that period. I highly recommend this one for all PI fans.
