Larou | 21 comments I guess with a whopping eleven reviews for his Sudelbücher., Lichtenberg might be a borderline case, but a measly 115 ratings are just nowhere enough for the man who came up with "Wenn ein Kopf und ein Buch aufeinandertreffen und es klingt hohl, so muß das nicht allemal am Buch liegen." (Quoted from memory, translation would be something like - "If a book meets a head and a hollow sound ensues this is not necessarily caused by the book.")
The notes and aphorisms collected in the Sudelbücher prove conclusively that you can be German and witty (although Lichtenberg may be the only person beside Karl Kraus (who of course was Austrian) to have ascended to that state). So, if they do not need to be unburied, they should still be placed on a higher pedestal, for more people to notice them.
