Have you ever tried writing historical fiction? Would you be interested in participating in a historical fiction writing contest?

Please post your comments, ideas and opinions about this, below.

Cadyn (catflame) | 20 comments I actually wrote a Historical Fiction Short Story for school and I love to enter it into the competition!

Peni Renner (penijo_renner) | 1 comments Hello! I just joined and would very much like to enter my historical novel, Puritan Witch: The Redemption of Rebecca Eames in more contests. It's about Rebecca Eames, my 9th great grandmother who was accused of witchcraft during the 1692 Salem Witchcraft Hysteria. No explicit sex, a little violence. I do think it would be suitable for YA.

Hey! It's been a while since I posted this and I unfortunately don't remember what type of challenge I was thinking of doing. As of right now I'm not planning any historical writing challenges, but if I have any ideas then I'll certainly try and create a challenge. I think a historical writing challenge would be really great idea for this group, so I'll talk to Tara about it and see if she has any ideas.

Monica | 1 comments Hey all! If anyone is interested in a contest for YA writers, YARWA is sponsoring one. Final Judges for the historical category include an editor for Hyperion Books. Check it out!
