Hi, I'm Brooks. 31, currently in Kansas, but moving to New Mexico in a few months. I'm going to be a chemistry professor in NM, which is a realization of a dream I've had since I decided on my college major 10 years ago. Needless to say, I'm excited.
I'm a new dad, and just got to the point that I can start reading again without immediately falling asleep and having the book fall on my face. I've always been a pretty voracious reader though, so I'm happy to get back to my usual habits.
I love short stories, literary fiction, sci-fi, and I've been trying to read more non-fiction this year. I've also tried to read more books from small, independent presses this year, which has been very rewarding.
Hello and welcome, and also congrats on the kid! I have family in Carlsbad, NM. Back when I last visited many years ago it was quite nice. There's nothing like the night stars out there, I must say- that kind of beauty simply doesn't exist in cities.
