PBS will be showing on Sunday nights several film adaptations of Jane Austen novels, including Mansfield Park--a film adaptation I haven't seen--don't think it's been played in the U.S.

Rachel i love the fact that they're doing this. it's two weeks in already, but i wouldn't be surprised if they did an encore presentation for anyone who missed it. i'm going to do a little jane austen festival for myself: read the book, watch the movie. i'm so excited!

Sarah (songgirl7) The DVDs are also available to purchase. I saw Persuasion on

Angie These have been good. The one about Jane Austen's life might have been factual but as I understand no one knows about how she really lived. I have been reading the book and then watching them on my TIVO.

Anna (olive415) I think that there are some better adaptations out there, especially for Mansfield Park. I think that Becoming Jane, which is based on Austen's life, comes out on DVD next week

Prabha | 11 comments Becoming Jane is loosely based on her life, but it's such a good watch.
