well the sugar bowl doesn't come until i think the slippery slope where the kids lie and say they know where it is to olaf so that they can get sunny back but i really don't know i think its sort of mentioned before that.

Sarah (raraclarkgmailcom) | 4 comments I wonder if it were a true story but honestly how can somebody like Vicepricipal Nero could be so stupid.

Sarah (raraclarkgmailcom) | 4 comments I can imagine that V.F.D is real but baudliars story could be real or not.

Emma the Dork (cheesehead) | 333 comments Mod
no its not because lemony snicket is a fake person his real name is daniel handler and he has a weird squarish head and i think he's tall and he made it all up it's not real trust me lol.

message 12: by [deleted user] (new)

I think the Snicket Files is in the sugar bowl (I think they said that once in the books, didn't they?). Or maybe a box of poison darts.

message 13: by Emma the Dork, Mrs. Olaf (new)

Emma the Dork (cheesehead) | 333 comments Mod
yeah but why are the poison darts important?? apparently its really important or else people wouldn't be freaking out about it, would they??

message 14: by [deleted user] (new)

To kill! VFD wanted to get ahold of them to kill the really evil people and the evil people wanted to get ahold of them to kill volunteers! Yes, that works!

Emma the Dork (cheesehead) | 333 comments Mod
I don't know..its SOOOOOOOO WEIRD GAH its ultra confuzzling...

message 25: by Megan (new)

Megan | 32 comments The one hint to its true meaning is the remark, "it isn't the sugar bowl that's important, it's what's inside it". The sugar bowl is known to have belonged to Esmé Squalor, who thinks that Beatrice stole it from her (this instigates her hatred toward the Baudelaires). However, Snicket admits to have stolen it with Beatrice before her death and states that he later ponders whether it was right to do so or not.

Emma the Dork (cheesehead) | 333 comments Mod

message 34: by Simona-- (new)

Simona-- I'm kind of intense (completelyinsane) | 6 comments Megan wrote: "who knows?"

i think that the point of the sugar bowl was to make Esme hate Violet Klaus and Sunny, or else the plot could have had a little happiness, and what is the point of these books without the hate, yo?

i think.... most of it just confuses the crap out of me

message 35: by Sylvia (last edited Jul 30, 2009 12:37AM) (new)

Sylvia Ysatis (Gautier) | 69 comments anyone read the short series lemony had in lunchables? theres a link for it somewhere on wikipedia, it mentions the sugar bowl, 2 dessert disguised guest, sonny teething, violet inventing, klaus remembering a book on teething, sunny shounting "Funcoot!" (C.Olaf's anagram name {Al Funcoot}) after seeing a man outside the window (olaf, but described as the hook handed man (i think), a snowman-ice sculpture disguised guest, and clues adding up to "Olaf was there."

i read it, short and just like lemony, i have no idea why i posted this here i just wanted to say something about it.

message 36: by Sara (new)
